Nicholas Thompson found a way to make up shots in a hurry this weekend at the Frys.com Open in Scottsdale, AZ. Thompson went 5 under par in a three hold span at The Grayhawk Golf Club. It started on the par-5, 562 yard 11th hole. Thompson used a 3-wood and hit his second shot in the hole from 261 yards. He then made a par on the 12th, and all hell broke loose when he followed up the double eagle with an ace on the par-3 13th. Thompson vaulted into contention after these three holes, and ended up with a top ten finish or the week.
