Rick C.Limpert in Brett Favre, Football, Patroits, injury

Brett Favre started his 292nd straight game as an NFL quarterback. He did not finish it, as I and many others predicted.  But it wasn't because of his ankle.

Favre got knocked down midway through the fourth quarter of their 28-18 loss to New England.  Pats defensive lineman Myron Pryor flattened Favre, who later needed 10 stitches to close laceration on his chin. He was already playing with two small fractures in his ankle.

There has been no update on his ankle, but I don't expect a chin laceration to keep him on the bench next week.  Tarvaris Jackson needs to remain ready, though.
