Apple has had the iPad on the market for just three months, and the iPhone 4 for just a few weeks. But in both cases, demand is simply outstripping supply; Apple executives did not name a single component in short supply.

Exceding all expectations, Apple has now sold more than3.27 million iPads.  Apple Stores and Best Buy Stores are constantly running low on the 16GB Wi-Fi models and all of the 3G units.

Most of the press the iPhone4 is getting is related to the antenna problems it is having.  The antenna problems have not hurt sales one bit.

Apple also said that it would defer $175 million in revenue until the end of the September quarter, the value of the cases that Apple agreed to supply free of charge to consumers who purchased the iPhone 4 through Sept. 30.

The transition to the iPhone 4 also mitigated Apple's iPhone sales, which might even been even higher if Apple did not slow down existing iPhone inventory from June 7 to June 24, the day of the iPhone 4 launch by about 250,000 units. Cook said that the iPhone growth rate was about 90 percent before June 7, and 61 percent overall, including the slowdown.

Apple brass are saying they are selling every iPhone that they can make.
