A little info on tonight's supermoon.

The Supermoon phenomenon is when a full moon coincides with the moon’s close approach to the earth. Tonight’s full moon will be the nearest it has been to the earth in 18 years.

During the Supermoon, the distance between the earth and moon will be approximately 2221,567 miles whereas the normal distance is 238,000 miles.

Since the diameter of the moon is 2,159 miles, it means that the moon will be over 7.5 diameters nearer to the earth than normal.

Dust off your telescope and get out to see the Supermoon tonight and enjoy the beauty of this event.
