A 6.5 magnitude earthquake has hit Japan and Tsunami alerts in various places have been issued.

Early reports say there appears to be little or no damage on the ground, the main concern right now is a tsunami that may hit the Japan coast.

This tsunami height may only be about 1.6 feet, but the force it may come into land on may be great.

The red-shaded area is the Miyagi perfecture.  It is the area currently anticipating impact of a tsunami.
