An NBA Finals first, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are meeting for a historic third time.

Just for the NBA Championship. Hotels.com has compiled hotel room searches to see just how far fans are willing to go to see their team win the Championship Trophy.

Not surprisingly, the fans from each team’s home state were the most likely to search for hotels in Cleveland and Oakland, showing that everyone roots for their home team. California came out on top, however, with the most hotel searches than any other state.

The top states to search for Cleveland hotels were:

1.     Ohio

2.     New York

3.     Florida

4.     California

5.     Illinois

The top states to search for Oakland hotels were:

1.     California

2.     Texas

3.     Illinois

4.     Florida

5.     Nevada

Popular hotels in Cleveland include the Metropolitan at The 9 and the Clifford House, while the the Marina Inn and the Waterfront Hotel are fantastic options in Oakland.

Las Vegas is also a popular destination for fans of the NBA Finals. The Palms Casino in Las Vegas has the Hardwood Suite, featuring a full basketball court, professional locker room and NBA-sized fold out beds. The Hotel Beaux Arts in Miami and the hotel at The Los Angeles Athletic Club both feature full-size basketball courts.

For real basketball fans, The Legend of French Lick (in Indiana), is a former celebrity estate (guess who?) on 20 acres of lush green meadow in the countryside near West Baden Springs. There is a boutique hotel that sleeps up to 20 people and contains a common library, great room and kitchen. If you need more space, our sister property, the Comfort Suites, offers standard suites at group rates. Yes, there is a famous basketball court!

This basketball court has been featured in movies and commercials. Play in the day or night (upon request) and feel like a star! If basketball isn't for you, thats okay, they also have a tennis court.
