Day 4: Australian Open Match of the Day

  Women's Singles - 2nd Round
  Bojana Jovanovski(SRB) vs.   Vera Zvonareva(RUS)[2]

A nice 2nd round match between one of the upstarts on the women's tour and a player who has worked her way up to #2 in the world.

This should be a classic battle and a close one.  Jovanovski has started off the year with a semi-final showing at the warm up event in Sydney.

Zvonareva appears confident and in a good frame of mind.  She feels she can win the tournament.

Look for Vera to eek out a close 3-setter.

*Upset alert - This match could also qualify for the match of the day.  John Isner is taking on Radek Stepanek  Isner will have to serve huge to win, but would it be a huge upset of Stepanek were to win?  Not sure, but Isner is seeded and Stepanek isn't.  Stepanek could win in 4 sets.

More Snow Coming to Atlanta?

A late-week low-pressure system will pump Gulf moisture into the Atlanta area Thursday night into Friday, and rain could change to a wintry mix of precipitation before ending early Friday.

The National Weather Service said the rain from the fast-moving system will likely change to all snow in the mountains, while a rain/snow mix is forecast for metro Atlanta.

But don't expect another major winter storm like we has last week, forecasters said.

"It being a rapidly moving system, the thought is that any snow accumulation will be light," the Weather Service said.

So a mix of precip and some flurries.  We can handle that after what we experienced last week.

Day 3: Australian Open Match of the Day

Men's Singles - 2nd Round
  Janko Tipsarevic(SRB) vs.   Fernando Verdasco(ESP)[9]

This is a great 2nd round match between two guys who have played three previous times.

Tipsarevic owns a 2-1 lead in head-to-head action.  All three matches were played on hard courts and Verdasco won the last meeting back in 2009 in Valencia.

Both players should have rooting sections from their respective countries in Serbia an Spain.

Tipsarevic likes playing in Australia, almost beating Roger Federer here in 2008.  Verdasco has played well in the Australian Open, reaching the semis in 2009.

It will be a minimum 4 set war, possibly 5 sets, but Tipsarevic will come out on top this time.

*Upset alert - In a second round women's match Rebecca will take Francesca Schiavone to the limit and win.
