'Footloose' Continues Filming in Acworth

The weather has cooperated as the filming of Paramount remake of Footloose continues in Acworth, GA.

Nighttime shooting began on Wednesday night around Downtown Acworth.  The crews do a pretty good job of keeping to themselves.  If you didn't drive by the staging areas, or the lot where the crew and extras are parking you might not even know a big budget Hollywood production is being shot in a small confined area in an old railroad town.

There are some small yellow sigs set up around the area with arrows directing the necessary vehicles where to go.

As pictured above, yellow arrow signs with a "FL" on it are used to direct people to the movie set.  Pretty clever, as most people wouldn't even think twice about seeing a sign like this.

An old car dealership is being used for overflow parking for extras and crew with their own cars.  This lot is only used for special event parking in Acworth, and anytime it is used locals know something is going on.  Also signs with red arrows saying "crew" and "extras" parking are the tip off.

I guess filming will continue through out this week and then they move on to another locale in Georgia.

Djokovic Already in Serbia for Davis Cup

He has to be tired, both physically and mentally.  Add some jet lag to the equation, and the pressure of representling your country in the Davis Cup Semi-finals.

It doesn't matter to Novak Djokovic, who is fresh off his U.S. Open loss to Raf Nadal on Monday.  He will be front and center to take on the Czechs in Belgrade.

"Yes, I am exhausted because it's not the easiest thing in the world to recover from playing the entire U.S. Open and traveling back east but I have to adjust as quickly as I can," Djokovic told a news conference after Thursday's draw.

"We can't wait for the tie to begin and I am sure I will be able to beat the fatigue because our motivation and desire to reach the final are huge," said Djokovic, who takes on Radek Stepanek in the opening singles rubber Friday.

Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic takes on Tomas Berdych in the other singles rubber Friday, while Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki face the Czech duo of Jan Hajek and Ivo Minar in Saturday's doubles.

Djokovic plays Berdych and Tipsarevic is up against Stepanek in Sunday's reverse singles.

Man Shows up Drunk at Intoxication Hearing

A Gwinnett County (GA)  is being accused of showing up drunk to a hearing at the city's municipal court to answer to previous public intoxication charges.

Police charged 49-year-old Phillip Ingram with being under the influence at City Hall.

An officer believed he smelled alcohol coming from Ingram Tuesday. Ingram was checking in at Lawrenceville Municipal Court on a public intoxication charge about 1 p.m.

The officer confronted Ingram and police say a breath analysis later registered his blood alcohol level at .14, nearly twice the limit for driving.

Well, so much for that hearing.

Kennesaw State not Kansas State Announces New Football Program

Let the record show that former Georgia football coach and AD Vince Dooley made the first blunder.  For some reason he announced that Kansas State will begin playing football in 2014.  He then corrected himself like only Coach Dooley can do and made it official that Kennesaw State, The Owls will play FCS football in 2014.

A football team, Dooley said, "establishes national brand and by that I mean a visible distinguished identification and a national prominence that's really not available from any part of the campus. It does initiate a sense of pride, a point of connection around the state. A football and a marching band energizes campus life and turns into the heartbeat and the spirit of a campus."

Georgia State, located in Atlanta began their football play this season, and have a game slated against Alabama in November.

iPad Free App of the Week: Bravo Now

It's no secret than women love to watch the shows and drama that happens each and every week on Bravo.

It is a dirty little secret that men like to watch the campy antics as well.  I have to admit it, I'm looking forward to a new season of Real Housewives of Orange Countyto see what Vicki, Tamara and the whole gang are up to.

This free Bravo Now app will let you get a taste of how your favorite characters on your favorite shows are doing.

There are clips and blogs from the Bravo TV Web site, all in a neat package. The app can host second-screen live-event programming, and that will appeal to many watching episodes and specials on Bravo.

Full episodes of the shows are not free, but they are available for purhase.

Bravo is calling this "interactive TV" and this is where television viewing is headed.

The app also features blogs, and extensive collecton of short clips from the shows and a social media component so you can interact with your fans.

There is a lot to this app, and it's free so go and get it.
