Macon Rain

No play today at the Tennis Classic of Macon due to persistant rain. It was more a drizzle than a rain and we were minutes away from getting play started, but the drizzle came back.

Play is slated to resume Tuesday morning.

An El Nino Coming to California?

Might this bring some much needed rain to California?

A strong El Niño can shift a subtropical jet stream that normally pours rain over the jungles of southern Mexico and Central America toward California and the southern United States.

Suspended Because of Rain

I'm not even going to say the "roof" word.

More rain in New York has delayed the matches.

The second rain delay of the day and the longest of the Open so far sent fans scrambling for cover and the match between Maria Sharapova and Marion Bartoli was suspended and postponed until Wednesday. That's great news for Sharapova, who was being blitzed out of the open by Bartoli. The Frenchwoman, was on her game and led 4-0 when the rains came.

The rest of the singles matches were simply delayed or postponed and they will try to be back in action during the day session on Wednesday.
