Caroline Wozniacki Fakes Cramps, Imitates Rafael Nadal at Presser

Not sure if anyone outside of Caroline thought this was funny, her sliding down the chair like Rafael Nadal did as he battled cramps on Sunday.

Leg cramps are no laughing matter.  Maybe it is time to make the women play 3 out of 5 at the Slams.

Will be curious to hear Rafa's reaction.  He's too nice of a guy to make anything of it.

Esurance Making the Most of their U.S. Open Sponsorship

Esurance is serving up a range of activities this weekend in conjunction with their involvement with the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

Esurance is a tier two sponsor as are Heineken, Polo by Ralph Lauren, United Airlines and Xerox.

Esurance is the official car insurance of the 2011 U.S. Open and is in the second year of a three-year sponsorship deal. "Partnering with the USTA and sponsoring the Open is a great way to increase our exposure to a wider audience," says an Esurance spokesman. "The 2010 Open drew more than 710,000 fans; more than 70 million domestic TV viewers watched the Open last year."

Esurance has sponsored tennis events since 2005. Since 2007, Esurance has been the title sponsor of the Esurance Tennis Classic, which takes place in Northern California and benefits the Harbor Point Charitable Foundation. This year's event takes place Sept. 23-25, 2011, and will include John McEnroe, the Bryan Brothers, Tracy Austin, Gigi Fernandez and Murphy Jensen.

An onsite spotter team for Esurance at the Open will be giving away prizes to attendees wearing an Esurance tag they can pick up at the company's booth. Prizes include U.S. Open gift cards, Evian water, rain ponchos, seat cushions, lip balm and sunscreen. At the Esurance booth, visitors can get their picture taken via green screen technology with doubles champions Mike and Bob Bryan, and download them or share them with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter. Touchscreen kiosks will also offer tennis tips with the brothers as well as entry into Esurance's "Play with the Pros" sweepstakes.

U.S. Open Match to Watch: Day 3

Here's a monster matchup for Wednesday on the women's side.

Venus Williams vs. #22 Sabine Lisicki

Normally it would be Venus seeded and the big favorite in this match, but Venus has been AWOL most of the year and Lisicki has been healthy and winning a lot of matches.

Venus wasn't really that impressive in her first round win on Monday night, and she'll have to be much better to beat the big hitting German.

Lisicki is 44-15 on the year with two titles to her credit.

This is a day match on Ashe, and I'm going go with Lisicki in two tough sets.

U.S. Open Match to Watch: Day 2

A good day of tennis on Monday should be followed up with an even better day of play on Tuesday.

We'll go over to the women's draw for Tuesday's match to watch.

It wil be on Louis Armstrong as the second match on.

This could be a war:

Galina Voskoboeva(KAZ)    vs.      Francesca Schiavone(ITA)[7]

Voskoboeva is really a player to watch. She's tall, she well coached and she plays hard.  She had a great run in Canada this summer and any top player that goes up against her should be on upset alert.

Schiavone isa warrior and a thinker on the court.  Hard is not her best surface and that will turn this into a close three-setter.  I still like Schiavone, the Italian to pull it out 7-5 in the third.

Francesca Schiavone

Craigslist Ad Finds Tennis Pro Looking for Practice Partner

This one caught me a little off guard.

A Craigslist post over the weekend shows that a WTA player who will be playing in the U.S. Open was looking for a sparring partner over the weekend.  Someone actually had to post this?

Wonder if will leak out who this player was.
