Rumors Continue to Swirl about UK Kindle Release

Numerous rumors are flying around that as early as next week Amazon may announce that the Kindle 2 will be released in The UK.

After the announcement, the Kindle 2 could start shipping in 2-3 weeks.

It will be interesting to see which mobile carrier will serve the Kindle, as I'm sure this is what the hold up was in releasing to Great Britain.  Who could be next?  Canada, France, Asia are possibilities.

AT&T and Garmin Introduce the nuvifone G60

October 4, 2009 will begin a new era in smart phones with the launch of Garmin's nuviphone G60.  With AT&T as a partner, Garmin International, Inc. promises the latest in personal navigation devices as this integrates phone service into this device along with GPS, voice, data, email and mobile web functions.

Whether customers use it mounted on your dash or carrying it in your pocket, Garmin expects this device to navigate all aspects of your everyday life.

The GPS features are the same as you would expect from your regular in car Garmin unit.  It's preloaded with all maps and points of interest for North America.  The "Where am I" feature will give you latitude and longitude of your current location.

Feel free to surf the web on AT&T's 3G network, or through your wifi hotspot.  The touchscreen will have an easy to use QWERTY keyboard.  The 3 megapixel camera contains an auto-focus, and can geo-tag the images as you take them.

The nuvifone G60 will be available on October 4 from your local AT&T retailer.  The coat is $299 after the $100 mail in rebate.  For more information you can go to www.nuvifone.com.

14 Years Old and Leading on LPGA

Alexis Thompson is 14 and leading and event on The LPGA Tour.  Alexis fired a 7 under par 65 today to take the first round lead at The Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Alabama.

Alexis is currently leading over such notables as Lorena Ochoa, Michelle Wie, Meaghan Francella, and Christina Kim.

Although Thompson is only 14, she is no stranger to playing in LPGA events.  She played in The 2007 U.S. Women's Open at the ripe old age of 12.

Good luck to Alexis, this would be a great story for The LPGA Tour.

MLB Playoffs Right Around the Corner

I haven't been following it that closely, but we are about a week away from the MLB Playoffs starting.

Let's take a quick look at the American and National Leagues.

NATIONAL:

Dodgers

Cardinals

Phillies

Colorado - Magic number is 1

AMERICAN:

Yankees

Red Sox

Angels

Tigers or Twins

For some reason I see the Cardinals and Yankees might be matching up in The World Series.

Possible spoilers might be Dodgers and Angels.  What are the chances of an all So Cal series?

The Mighty Wallet is Mighty Cool

Looking for something durable, safe, and different looking for a wallet; well, look no further than The Mighty Wallet by Dinomighty Design, Inc.

They have this tear resistant, indestructible wallet in many cool designs.  I bought the Dot Matrix Pi Mighty Wallet a few weeks ago and it has lived up to its billing.  It does look like a folded piece of dot matrix printer paper, but its sleek design feels comfortable in your pocket.

The secret is that the wallet is made from Tyvek, as in indestructible express mailing envelopes.  The wallet is slim, but will easily expand to fit your storage needs.  It is recyclable and water resistant, I've tested it.  I find it will hold about 12 credit cards easily, and a few business cards.  I love it so far, and  the looks it gets when I pull it out are priceless.
