The Muppets Hit Theaters This Thanksgiving

It's a typical Muppet movie plot.

When Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater, they help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater.

This is the seventh Muppet movie and the first since "Muppets From Space" in 1999.  I expect the box office receipts to be huge all the way through the end of the year.

Shall We Play a Game? Wargames Remake is a Go

The favorite movie of a generation of computer hackers is going to be remade.

MGM is really fixated on remakes, and their latest project is a remake of WarGames. I have to wonder if Matthew Broderick will be in it. The good news is that it will incorporate modernized video games (cool) and that Seth Gordon will be directing it. Even though it only makes sense in Hollywood logic, as the director of King of Kong, he’s at least got some video game movie experience.

The unknown is Noah Oppenheimer, the man recently hired to write the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oppenheimer is a senior producer for The Today Show, but has recently branched out into feature film writing with a script called Jackie O that’s perked up a few ears. Plus, he was attached to a Snabba Cash remake that, so far, hasn’t been made yet.

Let's hope they don't screw this classic up!

Gary Busey as John Force...

It's been said for some time that if Hollywood ever decides to make a movie about the greatest drag racer of all-time, John Force; Gary Busey would have to play the part of Force.

John Force and Gary BuseyIt was even the recent topic of a YouTube bit done at a recent NHRA event.

Apparenty this has been discussed many times and Busey is always the popuar pick to play the gregarious popular Funny Car driver.

Filmed in Atlanta, The Change-Up Hit Theaters Aug. 5

The Change Up Trailer - Watch more Funny Videos

Filmed mostly aroud Atlanta, The Change-Up, the upcoming role-reversal comedy starring Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds from Universal comes out August 5.

The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Leslie Mann and Alan Arkin.

I'm expecting to like this movie. It is directed by veteran comedy filmmaker David Dobkin, of Clay Pigeons, Shanghai Knights, Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus previously. The screenplay was co-written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, of Rebound, Full of It, Four Christmases, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Hangover and Flypaper. The film was produced by Spyglass Entertainment and Universal Pictures will be bringing The Change-Up to theaters everywhere.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is 30

Is it possible that my favorite movie of all time is 30 years old?

It's true.

It has been three decades since Harrison Ford first donned that fedora and swung that whip as Indiana Jones. The film was released on June 12, 1981.

Since then, Ford brought Jones back to the big screen three more times - in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984), "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989) and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in 2008.

And there might be another one in the works - Shia LaBeouf, who starred alongside Ford in "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," said that a fifth film "isn't far off."

Let's hope it recaptures some of the thrill of the earlier films.
