It is thought that over one half the gas stations in New York and New Jersey have been affected ny Sandy.

So with power out at many stations the lines are long at those that are operating.

Some of these lines are up to 10 blocks long.

First U.S. Station Goes "All Christmas"

It's Christmas in October, at least for one radio station in New Jersey.

WEZW (93.1 FM), also known as "Easy 93.1" in Wilwood Crest, New Jersey has just become the first broadcast station in the country to begin programming all-holiday music, 24/7.

Station owner Gary Fisher of Equity Comm. likes being first in the Santa music game, notes Tom Taylor of the trade publication Radio-info.com. Last year it was one of his urban stations and this year it's an "adult contemporary" station.

WEZW can't be heard in the New York area, where WPAT-FM has the 93.1 FM frequency, but it can be heard on the web at www.Easy931.com.

Fisher has a place on the station website for listeners to vote for their favorites and thus help program the station.



The website also has a Christmas countdown clock, which now stands around 67 days, for those who would like to start feeling the shopping and other holiday pressures as soon as possible.
