Bjorn Free: ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus on Life and More...

Came across a random article in The Jakarta Post of all places on Bjorn Ulvaeus, the brains and one of the voices behind ABBA.

Bjorn talks about life after ABBA, what he and the rest of the group are up to, and his hometown of Stockholm.  Are there plans for an ABBA reunion, how do all the members of the group get along now, and is there another musical in the works?

Ben Franklin: Kindle Free Pick of the Week  10/19/09

The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin.

You can't go wrong here, it's been on the Kindle Store bestseller list for a while, as it should be.

This book is not only about one of the most important figures in American History, but about philosophy, and ideals and hard work.  Much of this book is applicable to today.  It's the story of The American Dream, and how it was achieved back 200+ years ago.  He says the best America would be free, open and with many opportunities.  I think some of our leaders today might want to give this book a read, or reread it if they claim to have read it in the past.

The Kindle Goes Global

Today is the long awaited day that Amazon's Kindle begins to ship to over 100 countries throughout the world.

The cost is $279 plus some shipping and customs fees depending on where it ships.  Amazon is hoping the Kindle will revolutionize the way we read books, similar to what the iPod did for music.  The Kindle has already a growing following in The States and I think it may even be more popular in other parts of the world.

The fact that there are many other e-book readers either launching or getting ready to launch, it was important for Amazon to get it's Kindle in front of Europeans, Asians, and Australians as quickly as possible and just in time for the holidays.

One note, the international Kindle will not have the experimental browser and free wireless through Sprint Whispernet that the U.S. version will have.  International Kindle's that will have wireless download of a book will allow that only, and not Google searching and Wikipedia checking that we all love.

Brady with a Huge First Half

The score has The Patriots leading The Titans 45-0 at half-time.  You would think Tom Brady had a big half and he did.  5 TD's in one quarter.  The Titans look dazed and confused.  Brady is back.

Here is the Fantasy Football grid for Brady for the 1st half.

Verizon's Droid to go after iPhone

Many have tried, not one has succeeded; going after Apple's iPhone appears to be a futile excersise.

Now Verizon is taking its turn with a new release upcoming in the Droid.  The Droid will have a horizontal QWERTY keyboard in addition to a touch screen.  No pictures have been officially released by Verizon at this point, but a few have leaked.

Like its name the phone will be Android based, with tie-ins to all of Google's applications.  A nice feature is the 5 mexapixel phone it comes with and GPS functions also will be able to be activated.  The phone is thin and is to have a very nice vibrant screen.

TV ads are running on the internet and during Major League Baseball Playoff Games. The ads go right at the iPhone.

Go to DroidDoes.com for the page set up for the Droid.
