Fantasy Football TE Help

October 17, 2009

Five weeks of NFL and fantasy football are now in the books and whether you are 5-0, 0-5 or somewhere in between it is important to stay focused and continue to put your best possible lineup out there each and every week. It usually takes seven wins to get in the playoffs in a standard 13-week fantasy league that allows six playoff teams. So, if you are winless at this point of the season, you have a tough road ahead of you, but all is not lost, you can right this ship.

We are approaching a crucial point in the fantasy football season. This is the stretch of the season that can make or break a fantasy football team, making it very important not to make any mistakes in your starting lineup. You need to start the right players at each and every position and that includes tight end. So, as you search for the tight end that can be a difference maker in your line-up this week, please enjoy the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 6 Tight End Rankings.

1. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) vs. Denver

In the Chargers’ last game in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Antonio Gates had the monster game fantasy owners have been waiting for. He had nine catches for 124 yards with two touchdowns, giving him 24 receptions for 349 yards with two touchdowns through four games. Gates is a must-start fantasy tight end this week against the division rival Denver Broncos.
Point Projection: 13 points

2. Owen Daniels (Houston Texans) @ Cincinnati

Owen Daniels had eight catches for 94 yards in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5. With 39 fantasy points through five games this season, he is emerging into a weekly must-start TE1. Look for another good performance from Daniels this week against the 4-1 Cincinnati Bengals.
Point Projection: 12 points

Hurricane Rick a "Dangerous Category 5"

MIAMI – Hurricane Rick has become an "extremely dangerous" Category 5 storm off Mexico's Pacific coast.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the storm is now packing sustained winds of 160 mph (260 kph) and it could threaten  Baja California next week.

Authorities in the resort city of Acapulco closed the port to small craft after Rick kicked up heavy waves and gusts of wind.

Rick was centered about 290 miles (470 kilometers) south of the port of Manzanillo, west of Acapulco, on Saturday afternoon and was moving northwest near 15 mph (24 kph).

Forecasters expect it to stay well off the coast for several days before bending east over cooler waters and hitting the peninsula as possibly a Category 2 hurricane sometime Wednesday.

I always wanted a big hurricane to be "Hurricane Rick".

IMDB turns 19 today

Who would've known, the highly addictive website imdb.com turns 19  today.  The website we go to for everything movie and TV is older than sites like Google and Yahoo.

IMDB actually started as a USENET newsgroup in 1990.  It was known as rec.arts.movies, not imdb at this point.  It's popularity on the web soared when it became known as imdb four years later.  In 1998 Amazon bought imdb promising to keep it free to users, although it created a subscriber area for more information on movies.

The site continues to grow.  It now plays video content and has such interactive features as tracking the movie box office results.

Holyfield, Oprah, and Tyson all get Along

Looks like Oprah actually had a worthwhile show on Friday.  A show with Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson was intriquing.

The two have put the incident of 1997 behind them when Tyson but off part of Holyfield's ear.  Holyfield was the gentleman he always is on his Oprah appearance, and Tyson was apologetic, and remorseful in his interview with Oprah.  These boxers by themselves are interesting and get ratings, both together were a great show.
