A New Way to Treat Peanut Allergies

Scientists hope they have made a breakthrough with being able to treat kid’s peanut allergies by introducing small amounts of peanuts and peanut butter into their systems, by including it in their regular diets.

Scientists have been experimenting with a group of 29 children. They have to be very careful that the amounts introduced are trace amounts and if any signs of sneezing, vomiting or coughing occur they trace amounts are stopped.

The nine children that have made it through two years of treatment are considered cured. The kids now can even eat peanuts with no problem at all. Researchers don’t know what causes peanut allergies, but it remains a serious problem for those affected, especially kids. This procedure should not be handled at home, it is only in the research stages right now.

T-Mobile stops sales of Sidekick

In a move US wireless carrier T-Mobile called temporary, the company today halted sales of its Sidekick mobile phones today after the company and data services provider Danger lost Sidekick users data such as phone contacts and calendar information.  Danger is a subsidiary of Microsoft.

As of Monday afternoon the likelyhood of recovering data is not good for those that turned off their units or did a hard reset.  Sidekick users, and there are 1 million of them in the U.S. are urged not to turn off their devices since more data might be able to be recovered in the next couple days.

Regardless of how bad this turns out, it's a bad PR hit for T-Mobile, Microsoft and Danger.

Kindle Free Pick of the Week: The Christmas Bus

Currently #1 in the Kindle Store, The Christmas Bus, by Melody Carlson is a inspirational tale about a small town appropriately named Christmas Valley.  What happens to Christmas Valley is almost more than the booming tourist town can handle.

A young married couple bop into town in an old bus with no money and a baby on the way.  The townsfolk are initially hostile to the couple, but they stay due to the efforts of Charles and Edith Ryan, owner's of the town's B&B, The Shepherd's Inn.

The story goes on from there.  It moves quickly and readers bond with The Ryan's and their good-hearted approach to life.  The town learns not to be preoccupied with material things and they should reach out to the needy, especially during the holidays.  Something we can all take to heart.  The book is a great free pick for your Kindle, download it now and save it for December.

Flood Watch back on in Metro Atlanta

Up to 5 inches of rain is expected in parts of Metro Atlanta on Monday.

Flash Flood Warnings are posted in such counties as Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb and hard hit Douglas County.  As of 9 am this morning 2 inches have fallen in many areas.

Creeks are not overflowing yet, but are on the rise and by mid afternoon many of the same areas that were hit a couple weeks ago could be in jeopardy again.

The heavy rain is delaying flights at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta by up to an hour.

Denver Bronco's Passing Game isn't Vertical, but Stripes on Socks Were

The Denver Broncos today improved to a surprising 5-0.  They are not dominating, but they are winning.  Give credit to their new coach, Josh McDaniel.  They aren't being fancy and cute with their play, but they are playing solid fundamental football and hanging around in games with better teams and eventually making a play to win the contests.

One part of their game that was a little crazy was their uniforms.  The Broncos and Patriots wore "throwback" jerseys on Sunday to honor the 50th anniversary of the AFL.  The Patriots wore the uniforms we remember from the 1970's Steve Grogan era; I kind of liked those uniforms.

The Broncos wore a yellow and brown mess, with get this brown vertical stripes on their socks.

Thankfully for Bronco's fans the team played better than their uniforms looked.  The uniforms were to resemble the ones worn by the Bronco's of 1960-61.  I liked the orange and blue uni's the Broncs wore in the 1970's, remember the "Orange Crush".  "Brown or Yellow Crush doesn't have the same ring to it, but who's to argue with 5-0.
