A New Way to Treat Peanut Allergies
Scientists hope they have made a breakthrough with being able to treat kid’s peanut allergies by introducing small amounts of peanuts and peanut butter into their systems, by including it in their regular diets. Scientists have been experimenting with a group of 29 children. They have to be very careful that the amounts introduced are trace amounts and if any signs of sneezing, vomiting or coughing occur they trace amounts are stopped. The nine children that have made it through two years of treatment are considered cured. The kids now can even eat peanuts with no problem at all. Researchers don’t know what causes peanut allergies, but it remains a serious problem for those affected, especially kids. This procedure should not be handled at home, it is only in the research stages right now.
