Thrashers Goalie Remains in Hospital

The Atlanta Thrashers say goalie Ondrej Pavelec has a concussion and remains hospitalized in Atlanta after he collasped on the ice during the first period of a game against the Washington Capitals last night at Philips Arena.

The Thrashers have called up Drew MacIntyre from its minor-league affiliate in Chicago to fill in for Pavelec while he is out.

Out of nowhere, Pavelec fell backward on the ice with no one around. The team said he was unconscious when taken off on a stretcher, but he came to at the hospital.

The Thrashers won 4-2.
