Kris Allen Comes to Alpharetta for AT&T and Star 94

 I was fortunate enough today to be able too see and meet American Idol 2009 today at an appearance today in Alpharetta, GA.

A joint promotion with AT&T and Star 94 FM brought the Conway, Arkansas native to Metro Atlanta for this appearance and a concert for Star 94 fans Thursday night.

A couple hundred fans braved the 95 degree temps and blazing sun to wait outside the AT&T Store on Northpoint Pkwy and Mansell Rd.

Allen posed for picture after picture, talked with fans and seemed at ease in the air conditioned AT&T Store.  To me, he seemed quiet and shy with the fans, but appreciative of the success he has achieved. 

Allen was dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt, he signed one fan's guitar and received gifts of a poster and a song written by a young fan.

Allen said he will be traveling non-stop this summer and when asked about the new American Idol, Lee DeWyze, Allen said, "he deserved it."

Allen's career appears to be off to a flying start.  He has had a couple hits, "Live Like We're Dying" and "Heartless." 

Kris proved today that lines at this AT&T store weren't just for iPhone 4's.
