Flipboard Asks for Patience

I was looking forward to using Flipboard, a new iPad app yesterday, but it was impossible to get into.

Flipboard is a new iPad app that aggregates social media, it scored an influx of new users and a request from the app's creators to be patient should they encounter any delays.

"We want to ensure people who have Flipboard have a great experience, and also give new users more immediate access," the company tweeted Wednesday afternoon. "Thanks for your patience."

Flipboard is a free app now available in the App Store that scans your friends' Facebook and Twitter posts and present the links and articles that they've been posting in a magazine-like layout.

Flipboard made its debut on Tuesday, and soon caught the eye of the tech blogosphere.

"Wow, all your feedback has been overwhelming!" Flipboard tweeted shortly thereafter. "This has been awesome, and we're trying hard to accommodate the rush of new users."

A login problem earlier today prompted Flipboard to create an invitation system so users didn't overwhelm the system.

Flipboard is the brainchild of Mike McCue, former CEO of Tellme, and Evan Doll, a former iPhone engineer at Apple. Investors include Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, and Ashton Kutcher. The company raised $10.5 million in a Series A venture capital round.

It looks beautiful, I hope they get the traffic problems solved soon.
