New Tropical Storm Forming in Atlantic

National Hurricane Center forecasters say a low pressure system in the Atlantic will likely become a tropical depression soon.

The system is located about 950 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is fairly well organized.

The system could become a tropical depression at any time within the 24 hours as it moves toward the west-northwest at 10-15 mph.

There is a high probability...90 percent...that the system could become a tropical storm within the next 48 hours. If that turns out to be the case, the storm would be named Colin.

Another tropical wave near Nicaragua is expected to move onshore soon and there is practically no chance it will grow any stronger.
