Support Parkinson’s Awareness Month with RaceTrac
April is of course Parkinson's Awareness Month and for RaceTrac convenience stores and gas stations that takes on added meaning.
Carl Bolch Jr., RaceTrac CEO, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. His father, who founded RaceTrac, also suffered from the disease.
To honor these two men, Racetrac is inviting their Atlanta area guests to donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at our stores throughout April or online at http://www.michaeljfox.org/racetrac and are donating the proceeds of specially marked “World’s Finest” Chocolate bars to the foundation.
Between the generosity of customers, the “Coffee for a Cause” promotion they ran in early April and a community 5K that took place in Smyrna on March 31, they've raised more than $200K for the foundation already. But April isn’t over, and the goal is to raise more than $250K.
“It’s thanks to partners such as RaceTrac that our Foundation has been able to direct more than $285 million to Parkinson’s research since 2000, pushing promising scientific discoveries toward pharmacy shelves and patients’ hands,” said Sheila Kelly, vice president of development of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. “The generosity of the RaceTrac family and its guests will help bring us one step closer to a cure for Parkinson’s.”
