ACC Tournament Open Practice at Philips Arena

The ACC Basketball Tournament is in Atlanta this week at Philips Arena.

An open practice was held all day on Wednesday.

It's a chance for teams to get familiar with the confines of Philips Arena, although Georgia Tech used it as a home court this season, so most of the players have already seen it.

Some teams use this practice as a real practice, and other teams like NC State used it to goof around and take half-court shots and conduct a slam dunk contest while their head coach, Mark Gottfried socialized with everyone in the arena.

Here are some pics:

About Spotless Swing Golf Towel

Golfers of all skill levels are looking for an edge in their game. When a golfer strikes the ball with a clean clubface, it allows for better contact with the ball, ensuring greater backspin, and therefore, longer distance and enhanced accuracy.

Until now, the only way to clean the mud and dirt off your golf clubs during your round was to water down a standard towel or use a brush. However, brushes are awkward and messy and a watered down towel dries out during your round rendering it useless.

Now there is an alternative. A portion of the inside of the Premium Multi-Use Spotless Swing Golf Towel is made of a uniquely designed MicroBrush™ fabric that easily cleans the grooves of the club-face where dirt hides from ordinary towels. The fabric is coarse enough to clean deeply into the grooves yet soft enough to not damage the golf club finish, and absolutely NO WATER is needed! The ultra-high quality microfiber fabric that makes up main body of the Spotless Swing absorbs over 600% of its weight in dirt, mud and water.

The Spotless Swing Golf Towel functions as three golf towels in one:
1. Outside keeps the hands, face, glove and grips clean and dry
2. Inside protects and preserves golf clubs by removing dirt, mud and water
3. Revolutionary MicroBrush fabric cleans club grooves effortlessly preparing the club for its next shot

Thanks to Spotless Swing, golfers can now keep their clubs clean throughout their round and be prepared for each and every shot. Whether it's the 1st hole or the 18th, the Spotless Swing Golf Towel is there to handle the task.

The Spotless Swing is available in five colors: Black (with red trim), red (with black trim), solid black, pink and white. The golf towel conveniently attaches to any golf bag with the included carabineer clip.

Custom embroidery of Spotless Swing is available for golf events, clubs, tournaments, giveaways, fundraisers, etc.

Flooding in Wagga Wagga

A mass evacuation is now underway in Wagga Wagga after new forecasts predicted the Murrumbidgee River would overflow the town's levee system. More than 5000 people have been ordered to evacuate flood-stricken areas across Australia's New South Wales, with evacuations continuing in the Riverina and central west regions of the state.

Nine more areas in the Riverina in south-west NSW have been declared disaster zones by State Emergency Services Minister Michael Gallacher, Xinhua news agency cited local media as saying on Monday. "We are also expecting to declare more local government areas by the end of the day," Gallacher said. "This year alone the government has declared more than 35 local government areas as natural disasters as heavy rainfall continues."

So far, 5000 people have been forced to evacuate from their homes across NSW and another 2000 from mostly rural properties remain isolated.

More than 1000 residents from the Riverina city of Wagga Wagga's north and east have been evacuated so far.

Rush Limbaugh Loses Advertisers and Stations

With his absurd comments last week, radio host Rush Limbaugh is still feeling the fallout this week.

Although Limbaugh has issued a rare apology, the problem that had erupted when the conservative radio host called an activist law student a “slut” and a “prostitute” showed no sign of cooling early this week.

More advertisers pulled out today.  The count now stands at 17, plus or minus.

The list now includes: Geico, Netflix, Service Magic home contractor, Goodwill, Amberen menopause medication, PolyCom web conferencing, Hadeed Carpets, Accuquote Life Insurance, Vitacost vitamin supplier, Bonobos clothing company, Sensa weight- loss program, Thompson Creek Windows, AOL, Tax Resolution Services, ProFlowers, Legal Zoom online document creator, Carbonite web security firm, Citrix software maker, Sleep Train Mattresses, Sleep Number mattresses and Quicken Loans.

What might be of more concern to the Limbaugh camp is now a list of stations dropping Rush is also forming.

WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass., joined KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii, in dropping the syndicated radio show, with some others possibly to follow.

"His comments were outrageous," WBEC General Manager Peter Barry told The Berkshire Eagle. "There's no reason to resort to derogatory comments."
