Man Urinates on Cough Drops at Walgreens

What a dumb ass.

Sanford, FL Police said they arrested a 22-year-old man, Larry White after they received an anonymous tip after the story was aired on the news.

Police said White walked into the Walgreens, located on South French Avenue on April 21, around 10:30pm.  He went to the aisle where the cough drops are kept, looked around, unzipped his pants, and urinated on about 110 packages of cough drops, police said.

White then walked back to the pharmacy and attempted to fill a prescription, but did not have the proper documents so the man left the store, police said.

Police officers went to White’s place of employment and asked him to go to the police station for an interview. He never admitted to committing the crime, however he did say he had been to several Walgreens in the past.

Police said based on the video evidence and the anonymous tip, they had probable cause to arrest White. He was booked on a $550 bond.

NASA Still Looking at Monday Shuttle Launch

Engineers are still trying to repair the space shuttle Endeavour said they remain hopeful the problem can be resolved in time for the shuttle to launch Monday.

After getting access to Endeavour's engine compartment Saturday after the removal of rocket fuel from the shuttle's tank, technicians narrowed down the problem to two potential causes. They said one of those causes is easy to fix, the other is difficult.

Technicians reported that the problem could be traced to a thermostat, a part that could be replaced in a few hours.

However, the problem could also be related to a controller that routes power to heaters in an auxiliary power unit. In that case, the launch would be delayed until at least May 8 because of the complicated process required to repair or replace the controller.

Further troubleshooting should isolate the cause to one of the two possibilities, managers said.
Mission managers will discuss the options Sunday morning and decide on a launch date. A launch on Monday would be at 2:33 p.m. ET.

Endeavour's launch was called off Friday when heaters in an auxiliary power unit failed. The power units control the shuttle's steering systems during launch and landing.  Many dignitaries including President Obama and the First Family were going to attend last Friday's launch.

Fireman in Hot Water Over Charity Calendar

Fire officials in Philadelphia said a firefighter was reassigned after "showing nipples" in a picture taken for a charity calendar.

Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said Jack Slivinski, 31, has been removed from his position with Engine 1 and is being investigated for violating several protocols when he posed for photographer Katherine Kostreva's charity calendar, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Thursday.

"We get letters from children. They look up to us," Ayers said. "We cannot allow them to be showing nipples in photographs of Philadelphia firefighters."

Bill Gault, president of Fire Fighters Local 22, said Slivinski is a good fire fighter and should be returned to his position.

"They've stopped giving him overtime and detailed him out to some other unit. It's foolish ... I just want them to give the kid his spot back," Gault said.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, he didn't show his hose or anything.

The NFL Lockout is On, it's Off, and Back On Again

A federal appeals court on Friday granted a temporary stay of an April 25 lower court order that had ruled that National Football League owners could not lock out their players.

The 2-1 ruling by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis allows NFL owners to again suspend football operations, as they seek to revise the current system and negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement with the league's players.

"We are back to a lockout," said 8th Circuit court clerk Michael Gans, who confirmed the court's ruling.  The lockout is back on, but to what degree?

Friday's announcement, which became public during the second round of the NFL Draft -- the last element covered under the previous agreement between the two sides.

Appeals court judges Duane Benton and Steven Colloton voted for the temporary stay, writing that they wanted to "give the court sufficient opportunity to consider the merits of the motion for a stay pending appeal."

The lone dissenting judge, Kermit Bye, said that the temporary stay shouldn't be granted -- arguing unsuccessfully that such an order should apply only to an "emergency situation."

If games don't start on time late this summer, it would be the first NFL work stoppage since 1987.

No word on how long this lockout may stick.
