The Next Statement Weiner Will Make is "I Resign"

We've sat through how many days of Congressman Weiner statements now?

Well he made more today. 

Weiner said in a statement today that he indeed did send explicit photos of himself. He made the statement Wednesday as an X-rated photo that he purportedly took of himself turned up on the Internet.

The photo, which shows Weiner's weiner, was published by a website after conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart showed it to the hosts of Sirius XM radio's Opie & Anthony Show.

Separately, officials say Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, is pregnant. A spokesman at the State Department, where she is a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, had no comment, but several Democrats said the couple had told their friends.

Weiner is facing calls for the first time for his resignation from Democrats, led by Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania.

I predict here and now that the next statement we will hear Weiner make is "I quit."  I don't know who will make him do it: Democrats in Congress, the Clintons, or his wife.  Weiner needs to step down now, he's making life too easy for comedians and political cartoonists.

Harry Reid: "I'm Not Here to Defend Weiner"

This is one of the most light-hearted moments I've ever seen Sen. Harry Reid involved in.  He is trying to distance himself from anything "Weiner."

Even Reid's staffer is trying to contain himself from laughing in the background. 

At the end, he tells Weiner to "call somebody else."

Rep. Anthony Weiner Says He's Done Talking About His Weiner

The politician with a possible problem in his pants declared Thursday that he was done talking about the crotch shot posted online via his Twitter account.

As camera crews staked out his Capitol office - and tourists snapped photos of the scrum - Weiner refused to say whether the photo actually showed him or his underwear.

"I did a bunch of interviews yesterday," said Weiner, keeping a stiff upper lip. "I don't have anything more for you today. I understand you are doing your job. I am trying to get back to doing mine."

Weiner has flatly denied posting the photo from his Blackberry to a 21-year-old college student in Seattle.

But he flummoxed fans and critics alike by saying he didn't know for sure if the photo was him.

The nondenial denial incited the press and conservative pundits out for the Democrat's blood. It also guaranteed additional attention to Weiner's woes, infuriating fellow New York Democrats
