Another Air Traffic Controller Asleep
This time in Reno.
The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it suspended an air traffic controller for falling asleep at work and being out of communication for 16 minutes, forcing a medical flight to land overnight without local support.
"Can't seem to get a hold of the tower here," the pilot of the LifeGuard flight says in an audiotape recording. "We will circle some more. We've got a pretty sick patient. We may have to just land."
