Fan Falls From 4th Level of Stadium at ACC Championship
Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:12PM A spectator was rushed to a North Carolina hospital Saturday night after falling from an upper level of Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium during the ACC Championship football game between Georgia Tech and Florida State University.
Charlotte Mecklenburg police Major Eddie Levins said in an e-mail that the 22-year-old man apparently fell from the fourth level of the stadium.
The man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with what were said to be life-threatening injuries.
Michael Stanford, the supervisor of special operations for Mecklenburg County EMS, says his agency responded to an incident in which a spectator fell from the ramp leading to the stands shortly after the 8 p.m. kickoff.
The fall is the first of its kind from Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.
