Heart Attack Grill is a Place to Eat Your Last Meal

For the second time in as many months, a customer at the Heart Attack Grill may have had one meal too many at the Las Vegas eatery.  I'm talking burgers.

On Saturday, a woman collapsed at the restaurant known for gleefully serving up artery-clogging entrees.

Owner Jon Basso said Monday that he wishes the customer a swift and full recovery. But, he added, the woman got exactly what she asked for: a brush with death.

"We attract an avant-garde clientele -- thrill seekers, risk takers," he told the Los Angeles Times, adding that his restaurant is a "bad for you but fun" restaurant that "attracts people who don't really take good care of their health."

The chain's slogan is "a burger to die for," employees refer to guests as "patients," and a sign reads "Caution: This establishment is bad for your health."

The Quadruple Bypass Burger, which has been called one of the "world's worst junk foods," has 8,000 calories. It consists of four half-pound beef patties, eight slices of America cheese, a whole tomato and half an onion served in a lard-coated bun. A customer can also add 20 slices of "unadluterated" (not drained of grease) of bacon to the Quadruple, if they have a death wish.

Five Guys Wins America's Best Burger Title

-I have to say I prefer In-N-Out and Steak & Shake, but Five Guys will do.

Americans have voted on their favorite fast food burger -- and five people have won the honor: Five Guys, to be exact.

In the annual Zagat "Fast Food" online survey more than 6,500 people nationwide agreed that the best burger can be found at "Five Guys Burger and Fries."

The restaurant has 500 chains in the U.S.

Next in line after Five Guys Burgers and Fries are:

West Coast burger chain In-N-Out burger

Wendy's

Burger King

McDonalds

And you can't have a burger without the fries. Once again, McDonalds took the top spot for serving up the best French fries.

Voters cast online ballots in these areas:

Large Chains (up to 5,000 U.S. outlets)

Mega-Chains (more than 5,000)

Full-Service Chains (with table service)

Quick-Refreshment Chains (a focus on beverages, frozen treats, etc.).

Wendy’s is this year’s Top Food champion, dominating the Mega-Chain category.

Oddly enough, Panera Bread serves up the best salad, according to voters, which was also voted the the most popular large chain fast food restaurant.

The best burger at a full-service restaurant comes from Red Robin. Olive Garden was voted to have the best value for a full service restaurant.

It's no surprise that the best coffee for a quick-service places was voted to be Starbucks. Best coffee for a full-service restaurant comes from IHOP Restaurant.
