After a loss to the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys are left wondering when they will get their first win. The preseason talk of becoming the first team to play in a Super Bowl hosted at their own stadium has been reduced to the most elementary goal of all: just win one game. The Cowboys gave the Bears three turnovers, including two interceptions off quarterback Tony Romo. They had a chance to tie the game 20-20 midway through the fourth quarter, but unproven kicker David Buehler badly missed from 44 yards out. According to the Elias Sports Bureau only 10 percent of the teams who started 0-2 in the Super Bowl era have made the playoffs. That includes the 1993 Cowboys who started 0-2 and finished as Super Bowl champs.
If they go 0-3, they should know that only three 0-3 teams have rebounded to make the playoffs makes next Sunday’s in-state showdown at the Houston Texans a must win. The whole team will have to play better to avoid going 0-3.
