U.S. Open Match to Watch: Day 10

Rain on Tuesday means all the Tuesday matches are moved to Wednesday, so a full day of action plus even more.

It will be worth staying up late to watch Roger Federer and Jo-Wilifried Tsonga play the second match of the night session.

Federer holds a 4-3 career mark over the French player, but Tsonga has won the last two encounters, including Wimbledon and Canada this summer.

Both matches went the distance and I expect this one to do the same.  Tsonga appears to be playing with a bunch of confidence and that should allow him to eek out a 5-set win.

Wimbledon Day 10 Match of the Day: Tomic vs. Djokovic

For just about all of 2011, Novak Djokovic has been the hottest player in tennis.

For just about all of 2011, Bernard Tomic has been a disappointment.

On Wednesday, one of these players has a chance to build on 6 months of hard work and be on the verge of becoming the #1 tennis player in the world.  The other can turn his year around and thumb hi noe at those that said he was wasting his talent and time.

Djokovic is the favorite, but Tomic has really come on and is playing great grass court tennis.  In a match like this, experience usually pays off.  They have never played before and I have to go with Djokovic.

Prediction: Djokovic in 4 sets.
