Dee Snider Welcomes You to 'Snidersville, OH"

An Ohio town named Cridersville will be renamed "Snidersville" for one day in honor of Dee Snider, singer of 1980s heavy metal group Twisted Sister, after he had requested the change as a joke following a call from a resident on his syndicated radio show."I've had many dreams and been lucky enough to have most of them come true, but I would never dare to dream of something like this!", said Snider, 55.

Some 1,500 people live in Cridersville, located between between Dayton and Toledo. The name change is set to take place on August 21, when Snider will host a motorcycle ride to support the March of Dimes foundation's "Bikers for Babies" initiative. He will ride his motorcycle from Lima, Ohio, to "Snidersville" with other bikers to raise funds to help fight premature birth.

Snider, a New York native whose band is most famous for commercial hits such as "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock", is the national spokesperson for March of Dimes Bikers for Babies and has participated in its rides for more than 10 years.

Snider and his wife Suzette, to whom he has been married for about 29 years, have Tthree sons - Jessie, 27,  Shane, 22, and Cody, 20, and a 13-year-old daughter named Cheyenne. Two of their children were born prematurely. The family stars in an A&E reality show called Growing up Twisted.
