Fantasy Football Top 10

I haven't played Fantasy Football in a couple years, but I signed up for a free fun league this year.

I have the draft tonight and did some internet searches on who should be the first 10 players drafted. I was a little surprised by some of them.

Running backs still ranked pretty high.

Week 12: Fantasy Football Buy, Sell or Hold

Another week of come from behind wins, blowouts, and bad coaching. Just a typical week in the NFL. By now, your fantasy team should fit into one of these three categories: 1) Playing out the string, 2) Trying to make the playoffs, or 3) Trying to solidify your playoff positioning. Let's hope you are in groups 2 or 3.

Here's a Thanksgiving Week Buy, Sell, or Hold.

Buy:

Ben Roethlisberger,QB Steelers - Big Ben is hitting his stride. In week 11, he threw for 275 yards and 3 scores while adding another 55 yards and a touchdown running against a decent Raider's defense. Ben is a must start.

Drew Brees, QB Saints - He struggled early on in the season, but he should put up great numbers the rest of the way. He threw for 382 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Seahawks.

Santonio Holmes, WR Jets - He keeps getting fed by an improved Mark Sanchez. Holmes blistered his way to 126 receiving yards and two scores.

Thomas Jones, RB Chiefs - Jones is really coming on with a lethal Chiefs running attack. He has a quiet 644 yards on the season with 5 TD's. He next plays the Seahawks, and Jones always has big games against Seattle.

Packer's Defense - Dom Capers is doing a masterful job with a D that has had a ton of injuries. The Pack forces turnovers and they allow less than 15 points a game to opponents. I guess it helps when you have Clay Matthews and Charles Woodson anchoring the D.

Sell:

Viking's Defense - Not only is their offense sputtering, the defense hasn't help up their end of the bargain either.

Brett Favre, QB Vikings - If you haven't figured out he's a dud yet, you deserve him. Enough said.

Marshawn Lynch, RB Seahawks - He's done next to nothing since he arrived in Seattle. Not a viable starter.

Cedric Benson, RB Bengals - Benson has been ok for the Bengals, but don't expect much out of him this week as they take on the Jets.

Knowshon Moreno, RB Broncos - Only 58 yards last night. He might be running out of gas, consider starting someone else.

Hold:

Tony Romo, QB Cowboys. Word is the injured Romo is throwing a little bit. He could be back in 2-3 weeks. Keep him on your roster if you can and are making a playoff drive. He could be a valuable start for you in the post season.

Week 8: Fantasy Football Buy or Sell

Week 7 brought surprises galore. The Raiders killed the Broncos, the Browns beat the Saints, and Tony Romo goes down with a devastating injury. Such is life in the ever-changing world of Fantasy Football. Here's how you might be able to help yourself this week.

Buy:

Chad Henne, QB Dolphins - Against a solid Steelers D he went 23-36, for 257 yards and 1 TD. Yes he does throw an interception each game, but in his last four games, his worst performance has been 231 yards with two games of over 300 yards and seven touchdowns over that span. Not bad if you need a quarterback for the 2nd half of the season.

LaGarrette Blount, RB Buccaneers - He is getting more and more carries and might be ready to take over for Carnell Williams as the lead back for the Buccaneers. Against the Rams, he got 11 carries for 72 yards, which averages to 6.5 yards per carry.

Kenny Britt, WR Titans - He is the engine that makes the Titans go. He was benched for the first quarter and a half of the game, yet absolutely exploded for seven catches, 225 yards and three touchdowns. He is coming into his own.

Jordan Shipley, WR Bengal's - A nice wideout to have in your stable. He had six catches for 131 yards and a touchdown on a day where Carson Palmer threw the ball 50 times for 412 yards. if the Bengal's keep throwing, he'll keep catching.

Aaron Hernandez, TE Patriots - He keeps getting more and more balls thrown his way. He's averaging 4.2 receptions and 64.0 receiving yards over his last four games, he hasn't reached the end zone yet, but he should against Minnesota.

Darren McFadden, RD Raiders - Fantasy owners have been waiting for years for McFadden to break out, well he did on Sunday. With 165 yds rushing and 31 receiving to go along with his four TD's, he a must start now.

Sell:

Brett Favre, QB Vikings - He doesn't appear to have much left at this point, and his surgically repaired ankle was hurt again. Don't count him totally out, but don't count on him either.

Jay Cutler, QB Bears - If you started Cutler, Ouch! He's not even a mixed bag, when he's bad he's awful.

Jerramy Stevens, TE Buccaneers - The Bus have cut Stevens following his drug arrest over the weekend.

Denver Broncos Defense - How many points did they just give up to the Raiders? Answer: 59.

Tony Romo, QB Cowboys - He was my Fantasy starting QB. He's out now, possibly for the entire season with a broken collarbone. Jon Kitna in at QB.

Fantasy Football Alert: Colt's Dallas Clark Out For the Season

Some fantasy football owners are crying and some are rejoicing.

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark has been placed on injured reserve with a hand/wrist injury and is out for the season.

If you had Clark as your TE you were expecting to be without him this week, so at least most of you have a backup in place. It is so hard to replace a tight end the caliber of Clark, and those of you in contention may want to try and make a trade. Hardly anyone has even heard of his backup, Jacob Tamme, but if you have room on your roster, it might not be a bad idea to pick him up.

Peyton Manning spreads the ball around, so Tamme might come up big for you one week.
