Valet Gives $300,000 Ferrari Keys to Wrong Guy

A problem almost no one can relate to: The valet hands the keys to your $300,000 Ferrari to the wrong person.

It happened in July at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club, according to police, who ended up arresting the man and woman who drove off in it.

Now, the owner of that yellow 2014 Ferrari 458 Italia Spider has filed a lawsuit against the Vinoy and its parking operator, 717 Parking Enterprises.

The lawsuit and St. Petersburg police report tell the tale of how a brightly colored Italian sports car worth six-figures was stolen with apparently minimal effort.

Woman Backs into 300K Ferrari

We've all had problems parking, but hopefully none of us has ever made this costly a mistake.

The driver of a nice classic Mercedes 380SL with a DER BNZ vanity license plate reversed right over the hood of a shiny red Ferrari in Great Falls, near Katie's Classic Cars and Coffee on Saturday.

Katie's bill itself as the "premiere automotive enthusiast gathering" in the Washington metro area. On its website, it claims to attract hundreds of exotics, antiques and classic vehicles weekly, saying, "Katie's in the place to be on Saturday mornings!"

And apparently you never know what you'll see those vehicles doing. Just be glad you're not the one making the call to Allstate or GEICO.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale, which boasts 597 hp, retails for a little less than $300,000.

Dubai Gets Ferrari Police Cars

Dubai's police force will also have access to a Chevrolet Camaro SS, a Dodge Charger and a BMW 5-Series, in addition to the Ferraris.

Officers hope the FV - which has a V12 engine, top speed of 208mph and can clock 0 to 60mph in 3.7 seconds - will deter owners of other high-powered supercars from breaking the speed limit. It may also be used to patrol tourist areas.
