Kindle Free Pick of the Week - Into the Amazon

A page turner.

‘Into the Amazon’ follows lone explorer and inveterate dreamer Jerome ‘Jeronimo’ Jennings into the remote jungle of the Peruvian Amazon. Travelling by bus from Cusco to Pucallpa and then by river barge to Iquitos he sets out with local guides in dugout canoes and on foot on the trail of the anecdotal anaconda.

From the highest city on the planet to shrunken lakes boiling with flesh eating fish, through gloomy, tick infested forests to ones of lush splendour Jeronimo’s tale is told in a light hearted fashion but one that is rich in description, experience and passion for the forests and rivers of the greatest rainforest on earth.

From the high cordillera he travels to and explores day and night the hidden lakes of the Cumaceba, Abacharama and Triunfo, drinks ayahuasca, the legendary and highly potent brew of the shaman, in the jungle, at night, and ventures into remote jungle and the haunt of the giant anaconda.

Kindle Free Pick of the Week - How To Work For Yourself

One of the fastest paths to success is starting a new project like a business, blog, book or some other creative endeavor. Side projects can result in extra income, greater fulfillment and even a more enjoyable career. If you aren't creating something in your spare time, you aren't reaching your full potential.

Unfortunately, most people can't find the time, energy or correct life priorities to start and complete creative side projects. They keep putting off planning these projects, never finding out what they could have accomplished if they'd only created something.

Author Bryan Cohen is no stranger to creative productivity. He's earned more than $35,000 in the past few years from his side business, Build Creative Writing Ideas. His 30 books, all of which were written in the past few years, have sold more than 20,000 copies. He achieved this success through the life-enriching tips he learned by reading dozens of books, attending multiple conferences and through his own trial and error.

Kindle Free Pick of the Week - Louisiana Bigshot

Talba Wallis, hip and happening PI, a.k.a. the Baroness Pontalba, star of the New Orleans avant garde, was first introduced in Louisiana Hotshot and returns in this deft, well-written mystery about Babalu Maya, a "healer" who wants to know if her boyfriend is cheating on her. Shortly after Talba confirms her client's suspicions, Babalu dies of a heroin overdose the police are certain is a suicide. But both Talba and Jason, Babalu's contrite and confused boyfriend, find it such an improbable scenario that he hires Talba to find out what really happened. Unraveling the mystery takes the sassy sleuth with the attitude that's bigger than she is to the small Louisiana town where Babalu was born and to the prominent, influential family that turned its back on her a long time ago. While the plot isn't much more than a routine Southern gothic, the heroine is: Talba Wallis is a lively, engaging protagonist with family secrets of her own that are revealed in a secondary plot that's much more interesting than the primary one. Smith, the author of three other series, has a real winner in this one.
