Crane Breaks, Macy's Tree Dangling in Atlanta

A boom broke on the crane lowering the tree from Macy's at Lenox Mall in Atlanta Wednesday morning, landing the 60-foot Georgia White Pine on its side.

Drivers on Lenox Road could see the tree partially hanging over the edge of the store's roof. At least one window was broken.

During the 2011 holiday season, the original Macy's Great Tree snapped while being lifted onto the rooftop, and the store had to go with a replacement tree.

Pictures from Atlanta Lining up for the iPhone 5

Was invited by AT&T to cover their iPhone 5 line at the AT&T Store across from Lenox Mall on Friday morning.

About 50 people lined up by the predawn hours to get an iPhone 5 including a group of guys that had been there sine 10am on Thursday morning.

American Idol Finalists Perform at Microsoft Store in Atlanta - Scotty McCreery Pics

American Idol champ Scotty McCreery was the last to perform at the Microsoft Store Saturday afternoon in Atlanta, and the best was definitely saved for last.

McCreery sounds as good as or better than he does on television, he plays to the crowd and has his act down pat.

He's a country star in the making.

Here he shares a lighthearted moment with Lauren Alaina

American Idol Finalists Perform at Microsoft Store in Atlanta - Haley Reinhart

She did a great job, but she doesn't have quite a voice of Lauren Alaina or the stage presence of Scotty McCreery.  Still I think there is a place for her in the music world once her Idol commitments are over.

American Idol Finalists Perform at Microsoft Store in Atlanta

It's their first performance since Scotty McCreery was crowned this season's American Idol and the unofficial kick off of the Idol's Tour.

Microsoft went all out today as they flew in the top 4: McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, and James Durbin to perform at the Grand Opening festivities at the new Microsoft Store at Lenox Mall in Atlanta.

Durbin, Reinhart, and Alaina all sang two songs before McCreery finished off the set with three well sung songs.

Observations:

Durbin has a HUGE voice, booming and fun to listen to.

Reinhart has a good voice as well and you can tell she loves to sing.

Alaina is still struggling with some of the vocal chord problems she had during finals week.

McCreery is a great performer, he has his act down pat and the crowd loved it.

I'll start out with some pictures of James Durbin.
