NFL: What Teams States are Rooting For

A Twitter study using geo-tagged data revealed the team every state is rooting for in Sunday’s NFL Conference Championship games.

The beloved Bengals, underdogs in every game so far this postseason, have apparently tugged on America’s heartstring as they pulled in the most states with 19 in total.

BetOnline.ag analyzed keyword association Twitter data over the last three days and more than 100,000 tweets were used in the findings. The study tracked fan hashtags for all four teams such as #GoChiefs, #WhoDey, #GoRams and #GoNiners.

It’s interesting to see that the majority of the country is rooting for the AFC teams, with the total being 35 states to just 15 states for the NFC.

Complete state breakdown:

Bengals: 19 states

Chiefs: 16 states

Rams: 9 states

49ers: 6 states
