Paris Hilton Told to Leave Japan

Paris Hilton was not allowed to stay in Japan today, two days after she pleaded guilty to a drug charge in Las Vegas.

Japan has strict immigration laws that bar entry to those convicted of drug offences, although exceptions are occasionally granted.

"I'm going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future," Hilton told reporters before departing on her private jet.

The 29-year-old celebrity socialite had been due to appear today at a news conference in Tokyo to promote her fashion and fragrance lines. She arrived yesterday evening, but was stopped at the airport and spent the night at an airport hotel after being questioned by officials.

A Japanese immigration official said Hilton was denied entry after a total of about six hours of questioning.

She also abruptly cancelled planned appearances in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Jakarta, Indonesia.

Paris Hilton Detained in Japan

Japanese authorities are doing what U.S. authorities should've done long ago, and possibly kick her out of the country.

They are trying to decide whether she will be admitted to the country after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge in Las Vegas.

An e-mailed statement by Hilton's rep, Dawn Miller, said the 29-year-old was stopped by immigration authorities upon her arrival Tuesday in Japan.

Hilton was scheduled to appear at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote her fashion line, but that appearance was apparently canceled.

Narita Airport's immigration office questioned Hilton "for hours" to determine if she should be allowed to enter the country, the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau said, according to Japan's Kyodo news agency.

Authorities adjourned questioning and asked Hilton to stay at a hotel in the airport so they could continue immigration procedures Wednesday, Kyodo reported. There was no answer at the immigration office early Wednesday morning.

Under Japanese law, immigration authorities are empowered to deny entry to those who have been convicted of drug-related offenses.

On this trip,  Paris was scheduled to visit several other countries, including Indonesia and Malaysia.

More Drug Problems for Paris Hilton

The question is, can she get out of this one?

Police say Paris Hilton has been arrested for possession of cocaine after officers stopped the car she was in on a Las Vegas street late Friday night.

Hilton was booked into the Clark County Detention Center early Saturday morning on a charge of possession of cocaine.

He says she was in a car driven by a friend that was stopped when officers noticed what they suspected to be marijuana smoke coming from it.

Martin says that during the stop officers found what appeared to be a controlled substance on Hilton and tests showed that it was cocaine.

Recently Hilton had drug related issuses at the World Cup in South Africa, and at the airport in Corsica.
