Wimbledon Women's Semi-Finals

First up will be Victoria Azarenka and Petra Kvitova.

Lefty vs. Righty. Non Grunter vs. Grunter.  Both have big games and are hitting the lines and corners.  I like the fact that Kvitova reached this point last year and she has been coming into the net more than any other player.

Prediction: Kvitova in 2 sets.

Petra KvitovaNext up will be a former champion in Maria Sharapova against Sabine Lisicki.  Everyone is expecting Sharapova to come through in this one as Lisicki is not even supposed to be here in the semis.

If Sharapova doesn't have any issues with her serves, the hard-hitting German will be up against someone who hits as hard as she does.

Prediction: Sharapova in 2 tight sets.

Wimbledon Day 9 Match of the Day: Kvitova vs. Pironkova

We have reached the quarter-finals of the 2011 Wimbledon Championships.

Monday was almost too much action for one to take.  Will things settle down on Tuesday?  I don't think so, and pay special attention to the Petra Kvitova and Tsvetana Pironkova because the 2011 Ladies Champion could come out of this match.

Both scored impressive wins on Monday and I'm not expecting anything less than a three-setter complete with tiebreakers and great shot making.

Prediction:  Kvitova in 3 sets.

Your French Open Women's Champ Will Be...

Look at the face and learn the name.  Petra Kvitova.

With seeds falling everywhere else in the draw, Kvitova is disposing opponents and is possibly on her way to Grand Slam title.

Greg Garber of ESPN.com does a nice piece on Kvitova in Paris here.  http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/french11/columns/story?columnist=garber_greg&id=6598270

I like her game, her attitude and her ability to rise to the occasion in big matches.

I have to think she will win in Paris.

ESPN Relieved Petra Kvitova Not in Aussie Finals

A low cut neckline caused quite a stir at the Australian Open this year.  Your wrong, it wasn't Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova or Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

It was Petra Kvitova.

The Czech player had been sporting a plunging neckline on her tennis dress.

The neckline was so low that Channel Seven in Australia was so worried about showing a bit too much of the 20-year-old tennis ace they had to change the way they filmed her.

Every time she served a ball, the cameras shoot from a higher angle to try and avoid the possibility of a serious wardrobe malfunction.

ESPN had to be relieved that Kvitova ended up losing to Russian world number two Vera Zvonareva in the quarters.

I have to think the ratings might've been a little higher had Kvitova reached tonight's finals.  Kim Clijsters is a good draw, but many outside of the tennis world and China aren't all that familiar with Na Li.
