Fantasy Golf: Buy, Sell, or Hold for the FedEx St. Jude Classic

 Listen!

As is customary, the week before a major, especially the U.S. Open, the top players tend to take the week off and work on various aspects of their game that help them win the upcoming major.

That means the field this week in Memphis is a mish mash of young pros, pros that like to play each and every week, and those that will need good results in events like this to keep their card.

Lee Westwood does return to the TPC at Southwind to defend his 2010 FedEx St. Jude Classic title.  Don't get me wrong, this is still a legit PGA Tour event, 500 playoff points and over $1 million to the winner.

I'm going to be busy this week, so the buy, sell and hold are going to be tasty and sweet.  Kind of like that Memphis BBQ.

Buy:

Brian Gay (A) - He's a guy who can go low, in an event where you need to go low.

Lee Westwood (A) - Defending champ.  He could win again.

David Toms (B) - He's playing well and likes playing here.

John Senden (B) - Playing well, T-37 here last year.

Jason Bohn (B) - Just when you might forget about this guy, he'll pick a tournament to go low at.  This might be the week.

Gary Woodland (C) - His great play continues.

Fredrik Jacobson (C) - Good value for a C-level player.  He makes cuts and finished T-15 here in 2010.

Sell:

Heath Slocum (A) - Heath is missing more cuts than he is making.

Mike Small (B) - Has only played one other event, that was in Mayakoba.  He had a MC.

Dean Wilson (C) - A nice guy, but Wilson has been struggling since the Valero Texas Open.

Hold:

Steve Marino (A) - Marino hasn't played here in years, if ever.  He might find this course to his liking.

Remember to listen to the AudioBoo for the "flyer" pick of the week.
