Tebow Does it Again

He won't be shown a lot on the highlight reels, but he guided his team to a big win.

Tim Tebow, did enough to help lead the Denver Broncos to a 16-13 win over the staggering San Diego Chargers. After Nick Novak missed a 53-yard field goal, Denver’s Matt Prater kicked a 37-yarder with 29 seconds left, making Tebow 5-1 since he was elevated to starting quarterback.

After Novak pushed his kick wide right. Tebow moved the Broncos down the field for the kick that sent the Chargers tumbling to their sixth straight loss.
With that kick, there now hasn’t been a tie in the NFL since Cincinnati and Philadelphia ended even at 13 on Nov. 16, 2008.

Coach John Fox believes in his quarterback, even if Hall of Famer John Elway, the Broncos executive VP of football operations, isn’t totally sold on his third-down conversions and passing numbers.

“Tim has outstanding ability,” Fox said. “He proved it at a high level of college football in the SEC at Florida. (The option is) something that he is comfortable with. I think our team has adapted to it. Right now it’s working in the run portion of our offense. We still have some growth to do in the pass portion.”

It looks like Tebow is a winner.  How long will it last?

Green Bay Holds On, Now 8-0

The Green Bay Packers remained the NFL's only undefeated team, beating the San Diego Chargers 45-38, behind two touchdown passes from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers threw touchdowns to four receivers and the Packers ran back a pair of Philip Rivers interceptions for scores as Green Bay held on for the win despite a wild finish.

Rodgers completed 21 of 26 passes for 247 yards for the Packers who improved to 8-0. He has an NFL-high 24 TD passes.

The game went down to the final minute, but a Charlie Paprah interception sealed the deal for Green Bay.
San Diego (4-4), which was picked by many to reach the Super Bowl has lost three consecutive games.

San Diego is Luckiest City in America

San Diego, which has been touted as having the best weather in the United States, is also the luckiest, according to a new ranking.

The sunny southern California city won the top spot in the Men's Health magazine list of America's 100 luckiest towns, with Baltimore, Phoenix, Wilmington in Delaware and Richmond, Virginia not far behind.

"Luck is basically our modern world's magic," said David Zinczenko, editor in chief of the magazine. "People need to believe in luck because it allows them to give a name to the randomness of life, and when you name something, you have more power over it."

To determine the most charmed towns the magazine analyzed data about cities with the most lottery and sweepstake winners, the most hole-in-ones on the golf course, the fewest lighting strikes, the least deaths from falling objects, and the lowest debt due to playing the lottery and race betting.

"San Diego's multiple jackpot winners, its low lightning strike count, and its low number of lightning-related injuries and deaths helped push it to the top," Zinczenko said.

So I guess if you want to enjoy some nice weather, and win the lottery, head to San Diego.

Week 1 NFL Play: San Diego

Here we go with another NFL season.  While Green Bay got off to a quick start on Thursday, the rest of the league now gets down to business.

Our first play of the season is the San Diego Chargers.

The Vikings head out west with a lot of unknowns.  We know one important fact about the Chargers and tha tis they are good.

That and Norv Turner coached Charger tears are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

Not good for the Vikings is they are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games.

Take the Chargers, give the 7 points to Minnesota.
