Week 14: Fantasy Football Buy, Sell, or Hold

Some leagues may be entering the playoffs and some may have a week or two left. It's crunch time and it's no time to make a lineup mistake.

Week 13 highlights included Peyton Manning throwing 4 more interceptions and Tarvaris Jackson throwing 2 TDs. I'd say to expect the unexpected these last four weeks, but you can't do that in the fantasy sports world. Stay with the proven players, but if you see a potential hot play, you might want to go with it.

Remember scoring was down a bit in week 13 dues to cold and wintery weather. Expect more of that down the stretch. Keep that in mind when setting your lineups.

Here is this week's buy, sell, and hold.

Buy:

James Starks, RB Packers - The Packer's run game has been suffering. So call in James Starks to run the ball and let Brandon Jackson be the pass catching back. Starks responded with 73 yards on 18 carries in his debut.

Tashard Choice, RB Cowboys - Choice's expanded role produced some numbers. 100 yards on 19 carries and one touchdown. He has games against Arizona and Washington upcoming, so he might be able to help you in the playoffs.

Javarris James, RB Colts. I bet you never even heard of the this guy before Sunday. Well, with two touchdowns, I'm sure you know his name now.

Benjamin Watson, TE Browns. He catches balls if nothing else. He has 4 or more catches in eight games this season. 10 catches and 100 yards against Miami makes him a must start in week 14.

Chris Ivory, RB Saints. Ivory has been the man for the Saints. Sunday he ran for 117 yards and scored 3 TDs. He has 5 TDs in his last 3 games.

Sell:

Dez Bryant, WR Cowboys. He fractured his ankle on Sunday and is done for the season. Just when he was starting to put up some numbers.

Todd Heap, TE Ravens. Heap injured his hamstring on the first play of the game against the Steelers. He can't be counted on to do much the next few games.

Mark Sanchez, QB Jets. After a dreadful game against the Pats, you might want to keep Sanchez on the bench.

Drew Stanton, QB Lions. Stanton hasn't been awful, but he's going up against a stingy Packers defense. If you are starting Stanton, good luck to you.

Hold:

Ben Roethlisberger, QB Steelers. Injuries to "Big Ben" keep piling up.  He even had surgery on Monday to repair his broken nose.  How much more can he take? He might not last one or two more weeks. Have another quarterback ready to go if you are counting on Ben.
