RickLimpert.info Picture of the Week for 1/30/11: Tyler/Rivers

Whew!  Twenty-seven straight weeks of following and watching football.  We still have one to go and it's a big one.  Next week there will be nothing but Super Bowl XLV lead up and then finally the game.

So I'm going a totally different direction with my picture of the week.  My friend  affectionately known as "The Iowa State Guy" for his rabid obsession with Iowa State Basketball wanted me to do a side by side comparison, kind of a separated at birth between a current picture of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and now American Idol fame and Melissa Rivers who wouldn't have a crumb of a career had it not been for her mom.  If you have any comments or complaints about this topic, The Iowa State guy can be found on Twitter at @CloneGator

It's fitting as we are now two weeks into the American Idol auditions and in my opinion, Steven Tyler is the hit of the show.  So far, he's been popular with contestants and has endeared himself to viewers.  He might be the key to the show now that Simon is gone.

And for Melissa Rivers, well it's award show season and that means Joan and Melissa Rivers will be doing their fashin critiques on some channel nobody watches.  Take a look at this picture and look at the uncanny resemblance.

Now doing my own experiment using some face swapping software, I've switched just the faces and look what we have.

The software transfer isn't perfect, but by switching just the faces, it isn't much different.

'American Idol' Changes Nights

The revamped "American Idol," will air on a different night for its upcoming 10th season.

The Fox TV network said its hit singing contest will move from its longtime Tuesday and Wednesday night slots to Wednesday and Thursday when it returns. The season debut is slated for Jan. 19.

The switch means more big change for "American Idol," which is bringing in new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez after the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. Randy Jackson will be back on the panel.

Fox's decision to move the series, announced Friday, comes as "American Idol" must fight to keep its No. 1 spot. The show's ratings have been declining, with this year's finale between Lee Dewyze and runner-up Crystal Bowersox drawing about 24 million viewers, down 5 million from 2009.  Expect more little changes as we get close to the start of the season.
