My Appearance on FOX News Edge 'Tech Check' June 19, 2016

Thanks to Fox 5 anchor, Doug Evans, for inviting me on to talk about the important issue of mosquitoes this summer and protecting yourself from viruses like Zika.

For this "Tech Check" I bring on 3 items that can help keep mosquitoes at bay.

Have a watch:

1. Thermacall Mosquito Lantern

The Thermacell lantern is odorless and runs on a single butane cartridge that heats a repellent mat and releases allethrin, which is a synthetic copy of the natural repellent found in those chrysanthemum flowers.  The high energy butane lasts 30 times longer than the energy of alkaline batteries.  The lantern creates a 15ft.x15ft. invisible protection cell or covers a 225-square feet area up to four hours per mat or 12 hours for a refill kit.  The lantern is prefect to use in not only the home area for grilling and gardening but also in the great outdoors for camping, hunting, and fishing.

2. N’visib1e Mosquito Repellant Patch

A nutraceutical wellness company called Ntrinsiq Works makes the patches that are vitamin-based, nutritious, non-invasive mosquito/insect repellent free of harsh chemicals.  The N’visib1e patch is the brainchild of a former Marine deployed in Afghanistan and a product inventor, it is a vitamin B1 Thiamin based transdermal mosquito repellent that becomes effective within 30 minutes of application and is safe for people of all ages. The patches provide optimal protection because when using one or two every 12 hours they have been found to last up to 36 hours.  The N’visb1e patch is the ideal choice for people leery about loading with chemicals like DEET, diethyltoluamide, and other chemical-based repellents that have been found to be harmful to children.

3. Insect Shield® Repellent Apparel and Insect Shield® Repellent Gear

The US military has forward deployed Marine Corps & Army troops wearing uniforms with Insect Shield®.
Insect Shield® Repellent Apparel and Insect Shield® Repellent Gear are revolutionary products designed to provide long-lasting, effective and convenient personal insect protection. Insect Shield apparel and gear, such as mosquito repellent clothing, work wear clothing, bug repellent blanket and more, combine the Insect Shield process with a proprietary formulation of the insect repellent permethrin—resulting in effective, odorless insect protection that lasts the expected lifetime of the product, repelling mosquitoes, ticks, flies and fleas.
The shirt has been treated with Insect Shield® Repellent technology, part of a series of revolutionary products that have been designed to provide long-lasting, effective and convenient personal insect protection

Had the pleasure of reshooting my Back to School segment in the new Fox 5 Studio this weekend.

A modern studio that they have reason to be proud of.
