Fires still raging.
The heat wave that has gripped two-thirds of the nation continued Thursday, with triple-digit temperatures scorching some parts of the Midwest and East coast.
More than 141 million people have been facing some sort of heat advisories in 34 states. The unrelenting heat is responsible for at least 22 deaths across the country, reports "Early Show" weather anchor Marysol Castro.
Currently the jet stream is way north, that is keeping any cooler air up in Canada.
Right now the dome is over Arkansas and Tennessee, but it continues to expand - the heat has blanketed states from Texas to Minnesota, Georgia to Maine.
