Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 7/3/21 - Cara Adams, Director of Race Tire Engineering and Production for Bridgestone Americas

Interesting talk this week with the Director of Race Tire Engineering and Production for Bridgestone Americas, Cara Adams.

Have a listen:

After being cooped up inside for much of the past year, our cars haven’t spent much time out of the garage or driveway. But finally, Americans are hitting the road this summer! In fact, a recent survey from Bridgestone found more than half of Americans plan to travel only by car this summer to reach their vacation destinations. But just because we’re ready to roam doesn’t mean our cars are prepared!

Tires are the only part of a vehicle that touch the road and their proper care and maintenance are vital to their performance and your safety. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that worn-out tires are 3X more likely to be involved in a crash than tires with sufficient tread.

Indy car champions have relied on Firestone tires for more than a century… and their on-track success translates to excellence on the open road. So, to mark National Tire Safety Week (June 28th – July 4th,) Cara Adams, Director of Race Tire Engineering and Production for Bridgestone Americas, joins Rick

Topics:

How their tires are developed and tested to ensure success on the track
How that on-track success translates to safety for families and everyday drivers
The 3 keys to tire safety and performance and how a single penny can help
How often tires should be serviced and what to look for when buying new ones

Cara Adams was promoted to Director of Race Tire Engineering and Production for Bridgestone Americas in November 2019. In this expanded leadership role, Adams oversees the entire race tire production process in support of the Firestone brand’s role as sole tire supplier of the NTT INDYCAR® Series.

In addition to her work at Bridgestone, Adams also serves on the boards of several community organizations and is a frequent speaker at local schools and universities, encouraging students to pursue careers in math and science.

Cara graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. An avid athlete, Adams has completed 20 triathlons and three marathons.
