Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on Radio 105.7 - Omni Bedford Springs and Grilling Gadgets

Rick is Pennsylvania this week... kind of Western Pennsylvania as he was in Pittsburgh and then Bedford, PA at the historic, Omni Bedford Springs Resort and Spa. A great resort that has been around for over 2 centuries. 12 Presidents have visited the resort and President James Buchanan came here for 40 years and made it his Summer White House.  Great golf, relaxing and hot springs in the Allegheny Mountains.

With Memorial Day weekend here, Rick and Sully look at some grilling and BBQ tech.

Have a listen and see the show notes below:

1.  Flexible Skewers

From a company called Fire-Wire

Flexible Skewers ($10): These extra long skewers fit twice the amount of food as normal skewers. They also bend, which allows you to marinate your kebabs after they’ve been skewered.

2.  Outset Chicken Drumstick Roaster

Barbecue season will soon be in full swing. And if drumsticks are on your must-grill list, try Outset’s chicken drumstick roaster ($25) that will take away the hassle of constantly flipping your meat. The nonstick contraption can roast up to 16 drumsticks at once. Use it in the oven once the weather cools down. Find it at Chapters Indigo stores or various spots online.

3.  Thermacell Mosquito lantern

It doesn't matter where yoyu live in this country, be it the Pacific Northwest, the South  or even Midatlantic or Midwest regions, there is one problem just about every faces each spring and summer. That problem would be mosquitos and other insects that bite.

So an introduction to Thermacell and their all encompassing line of mosquito repelling lanterns, torches and repellers is necessary. Thermacell does something no one else does and that is use their technology to put a repellant that is a copy of the insecticide produced by chrysanthemums in their products. It proves to be 90% effective and welcome relief to those looking to spend an afternoon or evening outdoors with family, friends or a good book.

Thermacell says a latern will cover a 225-square feet area at up to four hours per mat or 12 hours for a refill kit. A Thermacell latern is not only more effective, but it is safer than using citronella candles.
Prices for lanterns start around $30.
