Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio - 5/11/19 - Rick in Concord NC / Cabarrus County

Cabarrus County is located just 20 minutes north of Charlotte, North Carolina. Comprised of Kannapolis, Midland, Mount Pleasant, Concord and Harrisburg, N.C. They are home to Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, The Dirt Track, and 90 percent of the race teams in the area, truly making us “Where Racing Lives.”
Rick visited Concord two weeks ago. He saw a little of everything, sports, tech and racing!

NASCAR All-Star Race Weekend – May 17-18

Epic motorsports excitement kicks off at Charlotte Motor Speedway with the NC Education Lottery 200 and the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race! See the stars of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series take on Charlotte Motor Speedway under the lights, then see NASCAR Cup Series greats battle it out during the biggest All-Star event in sports!
 


2.  NASCAR Race Shops like Hendrick


In 1984, Rick Hendrick started Hendrick Motorsports with an unsponsored car, five employees and just 5,000 square feet of space.  Over twenty years later, the organization has evolved into one of NASCAR’s top teams with ten championships and over 200 Cup Series victories.

The Hendrick Motorsports Museum is a must-stop for all stock car racing fans. Inside the museum, see Hendrick Motorsports’ most famous stock car and championship trophy displays. Watch a dissected Chevrolet SS car as the body is raised and lowered onto the Chassis.
 

3. Visit to the Mustang Owner’s Museum – Opened May 3

Officially opened to the public on May 3, 2019, the Mustang Owner’s Museum welcomes enthusiasts from around the world to the only museum solely dedicated to the iconic American car. The museum houses over 50 Ford Mustangs and exhibits showcasing the vehicle’s history and heritage including the 1964 NY World’s Fair Mustang.

After 55 years, the Mustang World now has a dedicated Museum located in Concord, North Carolina.  The 40,000 sq. ft. building will showcase between 55 to 60 Mustangs.  These Mustangs will include classics, modified, racing and a few crazy versions.  The goal is to show the automotive world the many reasons why the Mustang is one of the most popular "pony cars", as you can make the Mustang the vehicle you want.
 

4. zMAX Dragway - 4 - wide drag racing

Extreme entertainment on the zMAX Dragway.  Drive experiences start with a half-day course where you can take the wheel of a dragster or let one of the professional instructors take you for the ride of your life in a newly designed two-seat S&W Big Block Chevy powered dragster…smokey burnouts included with all packages! Perfect for corporate events and groups. The NHRA was also just in town...


 

5.  Lionel Retail Store at Concord Mills

Lionel, the producer of iconic model trains and die-cast race cars, recently opened a flagship retail location at Concord Mills – the destination shopping center in Cabarrus County, N.C.

The 118-year-old American toy company, which is based in Concord, N.C., will use its new Concord Mills space to entertain, educate, and excite customers by creating a shopping experience that is truly unique.
