Limpert Tech on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 1/12/19 - Rick's Picks CES 2019

Rick is back from The Consumer Electronics Show

CES is the world's gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years — the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to
What caught Rick's eye as new and innovative?
He and Sully discuss:
1.   CES is bigger than ever
Rick has attended many a CES, but this year it was so big.
Rick seems to think he saw less of what was there than ever before...
Number of startups keeps growing 1,200 companies exhibiting at the show’s Eureka Park, vie for funding and new partnerships.
More than 4,500 companies will operate booths at the convention, about 18 times the number of exhibitors in New York during the first CES in 1967.
Millions and millions of square feet of convention space
2. The Rocking Bed - based in Georgia
Have you ever wondered why so many children fall asleep while riding in a vehicle? Perhaps you have experienced the relaxation that often comes from traveling by car also. For generations, new mothers from all walks of life have understood how the gentle motion of rocking can promote relaxation and provide better quality sleep. Rocking chairs, bassinets, swings, and other popular baby items all attest to the power of the gentle sway associated with rocking.
This gentle rocking motion works wonders for infants and babies, but what about adults? As it turns out, this same rocking motion is also beneficial for adults of all ages. Our specially designed rocking beds were designed to simulate the same motion obtained in infant cribs to enhance sleep and promote a deeper level of relaxation.
What is a Rocking Bed?
The patent-pending rocking beds for adults were designed to be fitted with your existing bed to provide the ability to create a gentle rocking motion while you sleep. We believe in keeping things simple, and our rocking bed is no exception to this rule. It doesn't have an excessive amount of unnecessary bells and whistles but rather focuses on the necessary components needed to provide a gentle and relaxing motion that has been scientifically proven to enhance sleep quality.
It's about $3500 to have your bed turned into a Rocking Bed

3. Hey Touch and Hey Bracelet
Pre-order now - get a pair of bracelets for $115
Everyone wants to be close to their loved ones. But sometimes there’s just too much distance. It becomes impossible to hold that one special person. Until now. HEY bracelet lets you feel your loved one, no matter the distance.
HEY offers you more than words. It’s an innovative bracelet that really makes you feel connected to a loved one. HEY uses a unique technology to send your touch as far as needed. It’s the first bracelet that mimics a real human touch. Not a mechanical vibration or buzzing sensation, but an actual gentle squeeze.
The HEY app
This app makes sure all your little squeezes reach the other bracelet directly and it keeps track of your love stats. The HEY app will be available for Android and iOS.

4. LumiCharge 2.0  - Saving space and not seeing all those cables and cords
The LumiCharge charges any phone or device, with a rotating selector for the type of charging connector which can be Lightning, micro USB or USB-C.  There are also two USB-A ports for charging other devices.
The second generation also includes a 10 W Qi charger.
The LED lighting portion of the system is flexible, in that you can choose from three different color temperature settings.  The LED can enter be turned on manually, or can be activated by an infrared motion sensor, and new in the second generation, a light sensor so you can turn on the lamp when it gets dark.

5. Food Marble
Digestive difficulties can be very frustrating, and we want to help. FoodMarble AIRE is a portable breath test device and connected app. While doctors have used this type of breath analysis for years, this is the first personal device of its kind. We designed it to help the millions of people who experience digestive difficulties.

Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 - The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

While attending Adobe Summit in Las Vegas last week, Rick has the opportunity to stay at the high tech and centrally located... THE COSMOPOLITAN of LAS VEGAS

See more at: https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/

From gambling to eating to relaxing and the best rooms in Las Vegas, it's The Cosmopolitan that now sets the standards in so many ways, in Las Vegas.

The resort opened on December 15, 2010, and is located just south of the Bellagio on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard.

It consists of two highrise towers, the Boulevard Tower and the Chelsea Tower, both of which are 184 meters (603 ft) tall. The $3.9 billion project features 3,027 rooms, a 110,000 sq ft (10,000 m2) casino, 300,000 sq ft (28,000 m2) of retail and restaurant space, a 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2) spa and fitness facility, a 3,200-seat theater, and 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) of meeting and convention space.

In 2013, the hotel was rated "The Best Hotel in the World" by Gogobot. In 2015, the resort was named to the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List as one of the "Top Hotels in the World".

You can explore the one-of-a-kind restaurant collection featuring the Las Vegas debuts of world-class chefs. Let our stylish art and design exhilarate your cultural sensibilities and our vibrant nightlife capture your imagination. The eclectic mix of hand-selected boutiques, an unrivaled Pool District, 100,000 square-foot casino, and serene Sahra Spa & Hammam complete an unforgettable luxury experience.

Here's what Rick found when it comes to technology at The Cosmo

1.  Tech upgrades to the rooms

Rooms are outfitted with top-of-the-line technology that millennials will likely find very appealing. An iPad “virtual concierge” will enable guests to make restaurant and spa reservations, buy tickets, order room service, schedule wake-up calls, and control lighting and temperature. This will also be a great tool for meeting professionals to utilize. They’ll be able to communicate with attendees to send updates and alerts about the itinerary.

Additional include 65-inch Samsung TVs to stay entertained with Hulu, YouTube, Pandora, Crackle and NetFlix, and personal Bluetooth connectivity.

2.   Rose - The Cosmopolitan's resident Chatbox

Rose was unveiled in January of 2017. She is a chatbot unlike other chatbots in the hospitality space as she is playful, savvy, quick-witted and inspiring—reflecting the distinct mystique of the resort and its guests. Rose is an expression of The Cosmopolitan’s luxury-with-a-wink take on hospitality. Rose uses her wit, charm and bold personality to help guests have a better time. She is uniquely designed to move guests around the resort and surprise them along the way. Upon check in, guests are given a mysterious card in a room key packet with a phone number on it. Once guests begin texting the number, they will be introduced to Rose, who does more than any one person could do alone. Through interactive technology using real-time text messaging conversations, Rose guides guests through art tours as well as a variety of tours, has the ability to arrange for amenity delivery (towels, pillows, etc.) to guest rooms, suggests the perfect restaurant, recommends indulgent cocktails and even plays games. More complex questions or requests are handled by CoStars behind the scenes.
-  Important to note: Rose will be the first and only chatbot to communicate and serve guests that are players at the casino.

3.  Three types of pools to enjoy

The Pools at the Cosmopolitan features three different types: a relaxing pool, day club pool and nightclub pool.

4. Underground Parking

The Cosmopolitan was the second Las Vegas hotel, after The Palazzo, to feature an underground parking garage underneath the hotel. As a result, the parking garage was built first. In December 2007, work finished on the 70-foot hole for the parking structure, while other foundation work remained in progress.

5.  LED displays in Lobby

There are 408 LED high-definition screens, which play an inspired mix of videos created in partnership with artists from all over the world.

Powered by some 90 computers and 25 miles of cable, this stunning display of art and tech gets a complete refresh every 30 minutes — When you enter the hotel you will be greeted by a whole new presentation of sight.
