Limpert Tech "SullyCast" on ALT 105.7 and iHeartRadio 10/2/21 - Alexa Papigiotis on Reality TV, Sports, Mental Health and the Wedding
From "Meet the Frasers," Rick talks with former Miss Teen Rhode Island and realit show star, Alexa Papigiotis.
Alexa grew up in North Providence, and was a very active child that loved trying new things. She participated in sports such as T-ball, soccer, floor hockey, gymnastics, dance, flag-cheerleading, figure skating, and high school cheerleading. She excelled in figure skating, skipping 2-3 levels at a time and being awarded a silver medal in her competition! As for high school cheerleading, she was listed as one of the Top 20 cheerleaders in the state of Rhode Island. Throughout these activities, Alexa realized her passion is being in front of an audience performing. This is still Alexa's passion, as well as public speaking. In her junior year of high school, Alexa was inducted into the National Honor Society and Rhode Island Honor Society for her hard work and GPA in school.
Have a listen as they talk all sorts of topics:
Within the time she spent in the National Honor Society she began to enjoy the acts of community service and volunteer work, and planned to continue it after graduating and throughout her life.
Life before the Miss Rhode Island Teen USA title was not the easiest; Alexa experienced many hardships. In 6th grade Alexa was cyber bullied along with being physically bullied and threatened severely over a social media website, leaving her in tears after school everyday. Fortunately, Alexa and her parents took the right precautions, and she even happened to appear on a special episode of 48 Hours about bullying where she spoke about her experience at 12 years old on national television. Now in the present, Alexa struggles daily with severe anxiety, making it difficult to do normal activities without getting nervous. She suffers from bad panic attacks, which make it hard to enjoy some parts of life. Alexa is positive, ambitious, and faithful. She never lets any obstacles get in the way of her goals and dreams.
Matt Fraser, America’s top psychic medium has conducted thousands of readings for celebrities and clients around the world, performed at sold-out events across the country, and appeared on numerous televisions shows and media outlets. On his E! reality TV series he proposed to the love of his life, Alexa Papigiotis former Miss Teen Rhode Island, fashion designer and influencer in West Palm Beach, FL. Right after the epic television proposal the world went into lockdown and their wedding was postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic, but love always finds a way!
They are pleased to announce their upcoming nuptials on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida after nearly a year delay.
When it was completed in 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world. The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum was a mansion built for his wife as a wedding gift. It is now a breathtaking National Historic Landmark open to the public as the Flagler Museum, offering self-guided tours, changing exhibitions, and special programs.
The Flagler Museum also hosts world-class exhibitions for visitors to further explore the art and culture of Gilded Age America, highlighting art and artists, as well as topics and issues of the period between 1865 and 1929.
This will be the very first wedding since the COVID 19 pandemic celebrated at Henry Flagler’s estate.
“Being a bride and planning a wedding during the COVID-19 Pandemic has been anything but easy, I started to worry about much more than how my hair is going to be done and which earrings match my wedding gown. I started to worry about restrictions, protocols, and how to have the happiest day of our lives while still keeping our family and friends safe during this scary time. Matt and I are so lucky to be working with the best wedding planner (Lisa Pierce Events) who has calmed us down in more ways than one during this crazy planning experience, to say the least. What was most important to Matt and me during this stressful process of planning a wedding during a pandemic was to keep our eyes and heart on the bigger picture, which was how blessed we are to be able to even have a beautiful wedding, celebrated with all the people we love the most, and to focus on the deep love we have for one another, and coming together to finally make it official, which has been our dream since we met” explains Alexa.
“After being told that we might not be able to have a wedding at all, the pandemic has made the time that we spend with friends and family so much more valuable. After a year of not being able to hug our loved ones, or even celebrate holidays together, we are truly thankful to have this opportunity to have those we love present with us on our most special day”. says Fraser
Other details:
Alexa’s dress is named the “Stefanie” by Winnie Couture, bought in Boston, MA.
They have a guest count of just under 100 guests. Both wanted a small and intimate wedding with their closest friends and family members.
One of the couple’s very best friends Trisha is marrying them, which will make the experience even more special and personal.
“It makes for a great story to be told later on in life and to our kids, that one of our best friends was our officiant” declares Alexa.
The honeymoon will be relaxing after the wedding for a week in Barbados. Since we travel so much for Matt’s LIVE event career and our TV and press segments, we have been everywhere it feels like. We wanted to escape somewhere together we’ve both never been. It should be relaxing and very calm. They are going to spend their time together doing excursions like snorkeling and boating.
“When you have the voices of the dead in your head day to day, it is nice to go somewhere far away from everyone to just have some time to relax, recharge and reflect. That’s why we chose a sandals resort on a remote island. Its limited capacity and meant for rest” explained Matt Fraser.
