Rick Limpert does his "Wireless Wednesday" tech segment on 92.9 The Game in Atlanta every Wednesday night around 11 p.m. with Mitch Evans on "The Mitch Evans Experience." Tune in and listen and feel free to call or text in a question.

For much of 2012, I did the segment on Dave-FM before they switched over to The Game.  I was on "The Steve Show" with Steve Craig.

Rick is visiting another great golf course this week - Wolfdancer Golf Club in Austin, TX  and we look at Technology golf courses are using today.

Have a listen to all three parts.

Show notes:

**Last week he was at FarmLinks in Alabama and Rick saw firsthand what goes on at a research and demonstration golf course.
They try different tech, diff grasses
- FarmLinks - A research and demonstration golf course in Alabama that anyone can play
What is a research and demonstration golf course?

This week Rick is checking out Wolfdancer in Austin, TX
A resort and a course that isn't a typical "resort" course because it is so challenging
If you keep it straight you are ok,  can Rick keep it straight?

Other Golf Course Technology

1.   GPS video screens in the golf carts

Tells you exact yardage to hole, or yardage to water and sand hazards
All on a video screen in your golf cart.  Also will keep of your scorecard  right on the screen.

2.   Golf Carts with Air Conditioning

Robert Trent Jones Oceanside Course at Hilton Head has little blowers that blow cool air on you, kind of an airconditioning on the golf cart.  Nice during a hot summer round.

3.   Conserving water in the maintaining of golf courses

Bio-membrane preserves water  - liner that goes under the grass and soil and helps save on water
The membrane, developed by the University of Stavanger in Norway, is constructed from biodegradable materials such as slaughterhouse waste and seaweed and keeps the soil temperature on a constant level. Therefore, less water is needed to maintain the area and carbon emissions are reduced.

4.    More Tee boxes to choose from

It's no secret, golf courses have gotten longer. But to encourage more people to take up the sport, expecially women and kids, many courses not have as many as 5 or 6 tee boxes you can play from depending on your skill level.
Golf is supposed to be fun, and course designers and owners have finally started to realize that.

App of the Week   -   Banana Kong  (Free) Hottest game right now

For those fans of classic video games, this is a combination of Donkey Kong and Pitfall
Your little Gorilla gets one life and you have to run, jump and swing your way along the trail while picking up bananas.
Fun and addictive.
