2.  Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series and ESPN TV Coverage

Tennis fans will have more opportunities to watch their favorite players compete this summer than ever before, with ESPN broadcasting more than 1,800 hours of live match coverage – including 200 hours of live TV coverage – across its platforms during the 2015 US Open and Emirates Airline US Open Series.

In addition to over 200 hours of live match play on ESPN and ESPN2, more than 1,600 hours of live match coverage will be shown on ESPN3. The unprecedented coverage is part of the first year of an 11-year agreement between the USTA and ESPN, which will broadcast the US Open until 2025.

During the 2015 US Open, more than 1,100 hours of live match coverage will be shown on ESPN3, which will also be hosted on USOpen.org. ESPN and ESPN2 will also show a combined 130 hours of live match coverage, with ESPN featuring play from 11 courts during the tournament.

4.  Tecnifibre Strings

String technology in tennis has actually changed more than racquet technology.

Tecnifibre's new Black Code 4S  -  Rick's Examiner article -
http://www.examiner.com/article/tecnifibre-s-new-black-code-4s-again-proves-string-is-the-thing

The Black Code 4S is a four-sided string. The first Black Code was a five-sided offering. This means more spin than any other Tecnifibre string and I didn't notice or have any issue with losing control.

Speed - I was able to generate more speed to go along with the extra spin. I felt comfortable off both wings on the ground and felt better about most defensive shots I had to hit. My playing partner said he felt more power off the ground and on the serve.

5. QLIPP Tennis Sensor

A revolutionary smart sensor and accompanying mobile app (iOS and Android) that provides deep insights into key aspects of a tennis player’s game by providing measurement and video capture of a player’s strokes, spin, shot speed and sweet spot accuracy. QLIPP is the perfect training tool for tennis players, whether casual enthusiasts or tour professionals, to improve their game.
Via the free QLIPP app, players can instantly view their data, save each session for future reference or compare their performance to others using QLIPP.  In addition, the app has voice feedback so players can hear the app relay their stroke information while they are still on the court playing.

Retail price slated to be $129.99.

Wireless Wednesday for 7/15/15: Using Tech to Stay Cool and Protect Yourself in the Heat

If you haven't noticed, it's been hot out.  Temps in the 90s and maybe we are heading to triple digits.

Technology can be used to keep you cool and protect yourself from the sun.
For those playing sports, being spectators at sporting events and concerts... this is critical

Keep safe this summer... and listen and learn

1.  Nuun - powdered hydrating beverage

Nuun is optimal hydration for athletes everywhere. You're always active, and your water should be too. Leading the way in portable hydration, Nuun has optimal electrolyte levels to make the most of your water. In the form of small tablets that disintegrate your water Nunn provides the necessary electrolytes and more you need while on and off the course and field of play.

Nuun Active and Nuun Energy contain an optimal blend of electrolytes (Na, K, Mg, Ca).

Nuun is used by athletes across many sports. In addition to Davis Love III, many players on the PGA Tour use Nuun to stay hydrated. Keegan Bradley, Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald, Charl Schwartzl, Jason Day and Adam Scott are just a few players that represent the brand --- without being paid.

2. Coconut Water... many athletes swear by it before, during and for recovery after competition.

ZICO Coconut Water

ZICO coconut water has five key electrolytes: sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. These elements work together to support your body with what it needs to stay hydrated, especially on a warm day on the golf course. ZICO’s products, which are gluten-free, lactose-free, and dairy-free, contain as much potassium as a banana. Zico Natural is 100 percent pure water from hand-harvested Thai coconuts. Fruit, chocolate, and latte-flavored varieties are also available for ZICO, and they all taste great!

3.  Clothes that breathe or keep you cool

Gone are the days of wearing those heavy cotton shirts on the tennis court or golf course.
It's all about new high tech materials that keep you cool in the hot weather and are light and airy.
Adidas makes a "ClimaCool" line, Under Armour makes a "Cold Black" line worn by Jordan Spieth and Nike makes "Dri-Fit" apparel.

4.  Mission EnduraCool™ Instant Cooling Towel

The Mission EnduraCool™ Instant Cooling Towel is made from a proprietary performance fabric that instantly cools when soaked with water, wrung out, and then snapped in the air to activate the cooling properties. The proprietary technology works by absorbing moisture and perspiration into the fabric core where the unique radiator-like fiber construction circulates water molecules and regulates the rate of evaporation to create a prolonged cooling effect.

$14.99 at www.missionathletecare.com

5. Under Armour UA Core 2.0 Sunglasses

Starting at $104.99 to protect your eyes
Under Armour's UA Core 2.0 sunglasses are loaded with features and a favorite of athletes all over the country.

The Core 2.0 model are diamond rated and offer maximum comfort with their three-point grip with adjustable nose pads and temples. A bonus cap gripper gives you a secure fit when the glasses aren't in use and worn upside down on the cap.

Even with all these features, the look and stylishness of the sunglasses are not lost.

App of the Week:

Tuber: The YouTube Companion [FREE]

Many of us just want to quickly watch our YouTube subscriptions — and nothing else. Sponsored or recommended videos can not only miss the mark, but the fact that in order to get to our subscriptions we are first presented with what many would  rather not see is annoying. Tuber is a YouTube client that fixes that, as it takes you to your subscription feed off the bat — with a pleasant and efficient interface to boot! There were easy ways to mimic this on the official client, but this is an app solution that will most likely remain stable and functional throughout time and updates.
